In some sets of data there appears to be a confusion between two different Ann Chasmars. I believe both were born in 1733 and were 1st cousins. One (my 1st cousin 6X removed) was the daughter of Sander Chasmar and Catherine Norris the other (my 4th Gt Grandmother) the daughter of Samuel Chasmar and Mary Willard (Williams). Their common grandparents were William Chasmar and Elizabeth Drury. There was a third 1st cousin Anne Chasmar b 1740 who married Francis Somerford. Her father was George Chasmar, brother of Sander and Samuel.
Can anyone confirm or refute this data?
Also, how many wives did Sander have? I thought it was 2, Catherine Norris by whom he had 6 children and, later, Ann Reeves. However I've come across one tree which claims he had a third wife(?), Mary Unknown, by whom he had two of the children attributed to Catherine (Mary b 1740 and Alexander b 1743). I doubt this data since Catherine didn't die until 1764 (Unless Mary's children were illegitimate). Can anyone cast any light on this?
