Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks, Betty! I really appreciate you bringing this list back to life. Good Luck.

Hello,
I checked the archives of this List and there's only been a few postings for all of this year.??? So, I'd like to know if there is a problem.
I have 2, indirect connections to CHASE families on my family-tree.

Hello,
I want to let you know that I just adopted this List this morning !???
I think that no one has been keeping track of this List for about a year, maybe 2 yrs.??? I believe I tried to subscribe almost 2 yrs. ago, and again last month,? and I never got subscribed.??? So, I complained to the R.W. "main offices" and they put the List up for adoption !????? I mentioned this on the CHASE Board, and on the MA List, and never received a response.??? So, I decided that the only way to get this List active again is to -- do it myself !????? :o)
I am an easy-going Admin.??? I have been participating on the Lists and Boards for 14 yrs., and more than 7 yrs. ago decided to try being an Admin.?? It wasn't so bad.?? In the process, I started up a new List --? CAN-USA-Migration.
I just checked the Admin page for this List and there are very close to 200 researchers subscribed to it.??? So, it should be a little more active.?? If there were problems in the past,? I could not know about them.????
I subscribe to probably over 100 Lists, so I am aware of how they are run.?? And, every single one of them I get in the Digest mode !??? I won't have it any other way.?? And, I much prefer to have the Digests come in? -? in the MIME mode.?? That is when all the posts arrive in my e-mail-box as .one.? e-mail - with the posts - as attachments.???? Much easier to deal with that way.??? In the Digest "Plain" mode,? all the posts go to your e-mail-box -? separately.???? If you would like me to change how you receive the CHASE List, let me know.
.... I do not have the CHASE name on my direct "family-tree."?? I have it indirectly.??? One set of my great-grandparents were a LEWIS / CORKILL couple, born in Liverpool, England, who came to Canada as teens.?? In Nova Scotia, they married and then migrated to MA.??? In Stoneham, MA, they raised their 13 children.??? One of their daughters, Louise, married into the CHASE family of Winchester, MA.????
I began genealogy 20 yrs. ago and started with my KIDDER great-grandfather from Calais, Maine.??? George "Sanford" came down to Boston and married Louise RICE of Winchester, MA.??? She was part of the large HUTCHINSON Farm families of Winchester.??? During the 1850's, 3 of the 6 siblings on the Farm moved to NYC and remained there, including the oldest son, John.??? I just found out a few weeks ago that one of his sons, Edward, moved to Cambridge, MA, after marrying.??? But, while in NYC, his daughter, Sarah, married into the CHASE family of Cambridge, MA.
So ..?? please post a query !???? Or, if you have CHASE information that others might like to know about, please consider telling us !

My hat is off to you, Betty! Hopefully, this once fairly active list can regain its former glory. I administer the CHASE Project at FamilyTreedna.com , which has the main focus on assisting William and Aquila/Thomas descendants validate (or refute) their Chase family heritage through matches with confirmed by genealogy documents family line progenitors. Our other goal is to someday maybe be able to identify a valid link between the brothers Aquila & Thomas and a location & parents in England. (Right now they are genealogical "orphans") The Project has also gathered in a number of other individuals whose dna that does not match the William or Aquila/Thomas lines. I get occasional email queries from Project members who are trying to find links for their Chase heritage, and I used to refer them to this list, but it's lack of activity has discouaged me from doing that.

So, I complained to the R.W. "main offices" and they put the List up for adoption ! I mentioned this on the CHASE Board, and on the MA List, and never received a response. So, I decided that the only way to get this List active again is to -- do it myself ! :o) I am an easy-going Admin. I have been participating on the Lists and Boards for 14 yrs., and more than 7 yrs. ago decided to try being an Admin. It wasn't so bad. In the process, I started up a new List -- CAN-USA-Migration.
I just checked the Admin page for this List and there are very close to 200 researchers subscribed to it. So, it should be a little more active. If there were problems in the past, I could not know about them.
I subscribe to probably over 100 Lists, so I am aware of how they are run. And, every single one of them I get in the Digest mode ! I won't have it any other way. And, I much prefer to have the Digests come in - in the MIME mode. That is when all the posts arrive in my e-mail-box as .one. e-mail - with the posts - as attachments. Much easier to deal with that way. In the Digest "Plain" mode, all the posts go to your e-mail-box - separately. If you would like me to change how you receive the CHASE List, let me know.
.... I do not have the CHASE name on my direct "family-tree." I have it indirectly. One set of my great-grandparents were a LEWIS / CORKILL couple, born in Liverpool, England, who came to Canada as teens. In Nova Scotia, they married and then migrated to MA. In Stoneham, MA, they raised their 13 children. One of their daughters, Louise, married into the CHASE family of Winchester, MA.
I began genealogy 20 yrs. ago and started with my KIDDER great-grandfather from Calais, Maine. George "Sanford" came down to Boston and married Louise RICE of Winchester, MA. She was part of the large HUTCHINSON Farm families of Winchester. During the 1850's, 3 of the 6 siblings on the Farm moved to NYC and remained there, including the oldest son, John. I just found out a few weeks ago that one of his sons, Edward, moved to Cambridge, MA, after marrying. But, while in NYC, his daughter, Sarah, married into the CHASE family of Cambridge, MA.
So .. please post a query ! Or, if you have CHASE information that others might like to know about, please consider telling us !

Hello,
I checked the archives of this List and there's only been a few postings for all of this year. So, I'd like to know if there is a problem.
I have 2, indirect connections to CHASE families on my family-tree.
