Hello, Sarah,
I thought I'd poke my nose in here and comment in your spouse's surname 'Dimmock'. It is one of the variations over the years, as you say, with 'Dimmick', of the old English family name 'Dymoke'.
I don't know that your husband is of this line, but you might out of curiosity go to a Wikipedia link to read about that possible connection. Type in a search for Sir Robert DYMOKE [1461-1544] (my 12th great grandfather) or use this URL, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymoke
Cheers,
Gary in Berkeley

I am wondering if you still have the "rescued" photograph of Thomas Meady
CHASE. My mother's father was Arthur James CHASE, and although he was born
in Vermont, he married a PAGE, and was in the New England area until he
ended up in California in the early 1900s and met my mother's mother and
married.
I haven't written sooner because I have been ill for about a month and just
having a time getting my "head" back into genealogy again. I will
definitely do some more searching on this family and see if I can find a
connection.
I am also interested in the DIMICK, as my husband was of Dimmock descent and
also I am trying to trace a Dimmock for a mother and daughter who are also
of Dimmock descent. There are several variants to the spelling..

I oinly saw this after I sent my email.
I can assure you all that Qee Jarden is a most honourable lady.
If she follows my advice re a Boot up Virus high level check I am sure all
will return to normal. It may be cautious for her to alter her Chase name,
misleading as some may feel

The recent posts that have showed are probably a result of a computer virus
that has hacked into the user's address book. I have seen e-mails like
this before from my friends when their computers have picked up viruses. I
doubt it is being done deliberately, but unless the person is aware of the
problem and gets the computer cleaned up, it might continue for a while.

I've "rescued" an old Autograph Album which appears to have belonged to the
BRAGDON - MESERVE - STONE Family of Maine and Massachusetts. The individual
who was the original owner of the album is only identified as "Frank",
however, since a number of relatives are identified I am hoping someone will
be able to identify "Frank" as well. Based on limited research I was able

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Thomas Meady CHASE which was taken at
the Anderson Studio in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The photograph appears to
have been taken in the 1870's with Thomas appearing to be in his 40's or
50's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to
gather the following information regarding Thomas and his family:
Thomas Meady CHASE was b. 8 Oct 1820 in Newbury, MA to parents John CHASE
(b. 7 Sept 1783 in Newbury, MA) and Betsey CARLETON (b. 18 Feb 1785 in
Newbury, MA). Thomas was one of 7 children born to this couple including,
Betsey; Sarah Dole; Caroline Houghton; Harrison Gray Otis; Elvira Melvina;
Thomas Meady; and Rowena Roxana CHASE, all born between 1804 and 1825 in
Newbury, MA.
Census records provide the following information:
1860 census of West Newbury, MA:
Thomas M. CHASE, age 38, a Comb Maker, born MA
Mary T. CHASE, age 34, born NH
Edward N. CHASE, age 13, born MA
Emma G. CHASE, age 8, born MA
1870 census of West Newbury, MA:
Thomas M. CHASE, age 49, a Comb Manufacturer, born NH
Mary D. CHASE, age 44, Keeping House, born MA
Enoch W. CHASE, age 23, Works in Comb Factory, born MA
Enos J. CHASE, age 18, no occupation, born MA
And living directly next door - Harrison G. O. CHASE and his wife Eliza J.
CHASE
And directly next door to them - Samuel CARLTON and his wife Nancy CARLTON
And then directly next door to them - Elwood CHASE
1880 census of West Newbury, MA:
Thomas M. CHASE, age 59, born MA, a Comb Manufacturer, parents born MA
Mary T. CHASE, wife, age 54, born NH, Keeping House, parents born NH
I am hoping to locate someone from this CHASE Family so that this wonderful
old treasure can be returned to its rightful place, with family. If you are
a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact
me.
Thanks,
Shelley
