Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks for keeping up this database!
I have several generations of Chace's to add. In what form do I send the
information to you? I have my tree on Personal Ancestral File and I have
the PAF Companion, so I can create several different types of files. Which
will be easiest for you?
Linda Miller
Just a reminder that the "old" CHASE/CHACE surname database is still
available at: http://chase.familytreeguide.com/
This is the one that Keith put together and setup on the web site from
genealogies a number of us submitted to him, and he subsequently passed the
administrator job on to me. (I don't have any record of who the contributors
are.) Anyone can search the database by just accessing the web site, but
since adding or editing individuals or family trees is a bit tricky (and a
miscue could foul up the database) the decision was made to leave those
functions to the administrator [who has a backup copy of it that he can
reload in case he screws it up. :-) ]
The data base currently has 4367 families and 12496 individuals. Let me
know if you have additions, deletions, or edits.

Hi,Richard,
A lot of people with long term sites suffered a similar fate.
I now doubt that the provider of my site for the Chase/Chace genealogy
became the victim of such an incident. I was particularly upset as I had
helped my provider with setting up his system as as a consequence I had as
much Web space as I needed, However when he did a deal with another
organisation it was coincidenta?? that the Chase site suffered the Crash.
I was stupid inasmuch as I never backed it up!!! properly. The same applied
to the CD Rom of which over 50 were sold.
Somebody in the Group must have one?
Keep well Richard, I would appreciate knowing the company that did your DNA
test. When I had mine done they only did the short version

I'm fairly new to genealogy, and am enjoying reading the posts from the
Chases. My Chases lived and still live in New York and western Pennsylvania.
I'd like to know more about the Chase DNA project. I have one living brother
(one passed away at age 53) and many nephews who carry the Chase name.

Just to keep everyone informed, I'll post the dna data on a web site just as
soon as I get one up and running -- thought that I had one, but have just
found out that the (free) one that I thought I had doesn't exist anymore --
my provider probably informed of that fact in a newsletter (that I never
read). Will keep you advised.

I am a little known reader and contributor to the Chase site, and wish to second Jim's thanks to Charlie, and our new administrator Richard, for the work given to the Chase DNA project. My nephew donated DNA to the project, and it was very good to know my research was accurate. Had I more time (I run an inn) and computer savvy, I would be pleased to be able to add more to this mail group.

Charlie,
I would like to thank you for all your time and efforts that got the "Chase

I was one of the first group (I believe there were 12 of us) of the "Chase"

Thanks Charlie, and my thanks to Richard for taking on the challenge to take

Greetings to all: Just a note to let everyone know that the Chase DNA
Project is still in operation. Things have been very quite as far as new test
takers. I have come to the conclusion that we need something to spark some
interest in attracting additional test takers. To be honest, I have read the
Chase mail but I have not added much to the project since our inception a
few years ago. I have also been quite busy handling the Scott Family DNA
Project and activities with the Sons of the American Revolution.
Because of this, I have asked Richard Chase (_rachase(a)aol.com_
(mailto:rachase@aol.com) ) to take over as coordinator of the project. I believe having
a "Chase" handling the project will help and Richard can give the project
the spark and know-how that is needed to encourage some more activity.
I have two e-mail addresses that I check every day: _meb42639(a)aol.com_

(mailto:cscott@insightbb.com) . I have enjoyed working with the members of the "Chase" group and
will still be around--and maybe add something from time to time.
Finally, I want to thank Richard for agreeing to take on this project.
