Hello,
This chap is my 7th great grandfather. His grandson (James P.) moved to
New Brunswick, Canada, got a land grant in 1785, and had 12 children.
Most of the Chases in New Brunswick are descendants of William, not all, but
the majority for sure.

Greetings to all on the Chase list: I am trying to help a Chase descendant
find a missing piece on her family tree.
Do any of you have this family in your line, or do you know anything about
the following:
William R. Chase (born abt 1817)
Married to a Joanna (Joannah)
His father was born in Rhode Island
On the 1860 census, he was living in Chautauqua County, NY
His children are listed as: Frank M., John P., Charles C., Elizabeth
Sophronia, Asahel M., Nettie J.
On the 1870 census he was living in Zumbrota, Goodhue Co., Minn.
Any help would be appreciated.
I hope everyone is doing well. Charlie Scott

Hi,again,Ruth,
I attach the extract I mentioned previuosly. While the information in it
has been collected from various sources much of it was due to my own
research including the actual format. it is only 45kb long as file size. If
you do not have Word for Windows I can send in other formats
If there is anything else you need to know I have his father and
grandfather's history including where, it is 95% certain of his
grandfather's origins here in England about 45 miles from my home
Keep well

Just wanted to let you all know about a delightful book that can now be
found online and is downloadable in .pdf format (check out the link below).
The name of the book is A Yankee in Patagonia: Edward Chace and relates the
story of the adventures of Edward Chace of Taunton, Mass. I have an
actual copy of this book and really enjoyed it. Does anyone know anything
about this particular Chace? All I know about him is that he was from
Taunton, was probably born around 1880 and had a cousin named Rounsville.
>From the introduction: "The book is Chace; and Chace reveals to us his
personality and life; and through his own innumerable and varied adventures,
from foremast hand to rancher, his life becomes a vivid, shining picture of
one of the last, still primitive frontiers of a perhaps too tamed and
cultivated world."

Nice work Jeffrey . Can I suggest having a look at Harry Chase , who with
newsman Lowell Thomas went into the desert to cover Lawrence of Arabia ...I
never did find out anythingt about him .
Here's the write up that mentions him.

Jeffery,
I checked out the site tonight and it looks GREAT! I found it very easy to
navigate.
I just wish I could find out what Chase family I belong to . My brick wall
is Susanah Cramer, nee Chase born in Montreal in 1803. We believe her family
was from Vermont and moved to Canada and that her father may have been
Walter Chase. So far we have been unable to prove anything except for her maiden
name, birth date, where she was born and that she was of English descent.
This info is all in a family Bible my Father has and in letters a cousin has.
Keep up the good work!
Judi

Also wanted to mention that I have added links to a bunch of Chace/Chase
family biographies at my website. I have divided my bios between William
Chase descendents, Aquila Chase descendents, Others, and Chase Family
Wannabees who merely use the Chase name as their professional moniker.
You'll find the aforementioned life stories under the obvious category of
"Biographies" at my website. Anyone who would like to add to the mix is
welcome. Either send me text of a bio of someone who should be added or a
link to a bio that already exists.
Go to www.chace.demon.nl and click on "Biographies." I have also added

Hello All,
Just wanted to let you know that I have completely revamped the
functionality of my Chace Family Website. In the past, I had a navigation
panel full of links on the lefthand side. After a while, this got to be very
hard to maintain and it was very difficult to find the information you might
be looking for. I have changed that navigation panel by putting in some
javascript and emulating the functionality of Windows Explorer so that you
see folders and subfolders logically grouped by subject matter. You click on
a folder and it opens up to reveal subfolders and files which can be clicked
on to reveal content in the righthand panel.
I would really appreciate it if any of you would go check out the new
functionality and make sure that it works properly. If you find any
problems, please let me know so that I can fix them. I have tried out the
the new features on Internet Explorer and Firefox and it appears to work
properly. You can access the website at http://www.chace.demon.nl
Thanks a lot,

That is excellent Jeri !
While she has to claim her "Chase" name by marriage , my wife is also in the
arts, responsible for the Shakespeare Theatre here..
http://www.saintjohnshakespeare.ca/
so we can claim good credits in the arts community .
The very best efforts of Keith and Jeffrey and Ginger (whom I believe passed
away?) have given tantalizing pointers to Chases in Bucks and Chases in
Essex
but the Aquilla people and the William people are still eagerly searching
for that connection "over there" prior to 1630 or so.
