Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The DNA Results page has been up-dated but only with my preliminary results. As I am not a male CHASE they are not entirely relevant other than for comparison purposes.
To make this whole exercise truly meaningful we need as many Male Chase as possible to take part. Also highly useful would be some CHACE males to be tested.
Perhaps if enough people took the test then it could be shown if Aquilla and Thomas were related to William

Does anyone have any more information on William Reuben Chase?
Lakeville, NS
Name of postmaster: Reuben Chase
Date of appointment: 1869-05-01
Date of vacancy: 1879-05-29
Cause of vacancy: resignation
Census Kings County
Year 1871
Fam N Surname G Names Age Mar St Community
4 Chase Reuben 26 M Lakeville1
4 Chase Adelia 23 M Lakeville1
4 Chase Omer 4 Lakeville1
4 Chase Audery 1 Lakeville1
In the book "Sheltered by the North Mountain" the author states: Reuben
was a 'boot and shoe maker and way office keeper' according to the 1871
Census. He kept a store, where he no doubt sold the footwear he made,
and from 1869 to 1879 he was Lakeville's second postmaster. Reuben (1845
- ) had a wife Adelia (1848 - ) and at least two children Omar and
Audrey. Old records show that in 1879, the year in which Reuben left the
village, he was sued by William Chase, who had a tannery a few hundred
yards to the west, over a $108 debt.
He evidently moved to Lynn, MA.

Haven't heard anyhthing for awhile on the DNA testing. Charlie, what is the status of those getting the test, i.e., how many Aquilla, Thomas, William and others have now taken the test? Some people have choosen not to have their names and email addresses given out to others having done the test that are matches. I hope that they will change their minds - it would help in our collective research, especially those having exact matches in the 25 marker test. If someone were to change their mind on giving this into, how do they go about it?
When will the analysis be completed?

Hi:
Really interested to know about the dna testing. I know I can't take a test
but want to know these results. My family was Francis DeWitt Chase and
Della Rosella Chase. Francis Chase was married to Martha Ellen Hand. They
had
15 children.
Anyway If I knew how to get the info to you, would.
sincerely yours
Joan E. D. Cameron
P.S. Tommy Hendrick has most of my info.
It is my understanding that URL #2 below replaced #1 for the
currently maintained CHASE site some time ago. (#2 also is sort of hard to
get into sometimes, which prompted my earlier response.) Everyone should
probably check to make sure that the only the correct one (#2) is bookmarked
in their 'Favorites' to preclude future confusion.
