Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
As presently configured, and I assume it will (as it should) remain that
way, only the administrator (Keith) can access the data base for editing
purposes. It would be chaos if everyone could revise entries as they chose!
You do not need a password to search the database, just as you did not need
one to search it before. Simply enter the name of the individual of
interest. Once he or she is located, you can then create ancestry or
descendant trees.

If we have information that is not entered into the database, how do we get
that info entered into the database? What is the easiest method?
Thank you,
Brenda
Rex -- Only the administrator can get "into" this site -- but us normal
people can search it just like the old one (only I think that this one is
better) by entering the individual's name. You can then create descendancy
and ancestry for the individual.

It looks like a subscription, login type site.
Who know how to access this thing??

Another word from Keith.
I would appreciate it if you explained to the Group that I am looking to see
if
editing can be done without having to reload the whole database, as it used
to be.
Rex, I tried by putting in my surname (maiden) which wouldn't help you much.
My maiden name was Spencer..from there I was able to go back to William #1..

Please pass on to the group.
Lonnie,
Great news!!
DPartridge has told me that the removal o living persons names is done, by
the programme, AUTOMAGICALLY!!
No it is not a spelling mistake.
What a GREAT word. It ranks with FDR's "Normalcy" No...Better!!
As administrator I do see the birthdates but a visitor does not.
Please pass the message to the Group and ask them to try as I can only see
the full database.
Let me know what they think.
The facility to add histories and small photos is also possible

OVER 90 YEARS???? I hope this is not the case.

Lonnie,
When SurnameWeb recently moved we had to disable a lot of the scripts on
the server due to security risks of those scripts. We've provided Keith
a new program to use to upload the Chase GEDCOM and it can be found at:
http://chase.familytreeguide.com/
I'll get him to update the database links on the main Chase website.
Please let the others know on the Chase list that his old GEDCOM is now
available again.
Best Wishes,

haven't had that email address in at least 3 years. The new email address

What do you mean by "everything"? Can you access the Chase DATABASE itself
through the link that the site provides? If so, it appears that you may be
the only one that can...

The link Chase/Chace Online Database does not work. Obviously, there has
been some work done on the site and a link has been missed OR the database
portion of the site was moved to another location within the site OR it
could be being updated.
Only Keith knows for sure.

Hi Y'all!
I'm looking for information (anything!) about Nancy
Chase. Nancy was probably born between 1840 & 1860.
She married William Shadrick Dunham (who seems to have
also gone by the name of Shadrick), and whose father
died in PA. Williams' parents were Robert Dunham and
Anne Titus. Anne's family lived in Mercer Co and
Bucks Co PA. So I'm suspicious that Nancy was also
from PA, but could have been from elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us!
Susan :)

Hello Rex,
I doubt if Keith will be reading any of this since he no longer subscribes
to the list. Here is the last email I got from him regarding the database
(the link listed in the email is the latest for the Chase site, but the
database doesn't work from there either):
Jeffrey,
I am surprised about the database getting removed!!
I will ask the server owner.( He owns both surnameweb and genealogy
surnames), why he has done this
