Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thia is my first day to the list. The main reason I joined is because of so
many different names I am getting on the William I, II, and III.
Can anyone tell me who these fellows were really married to and most
important who were William I parents.?
Any help to sort out this confusion would be more than greatly appreciated.
This afternoon while trying to but notes together I became more confused
than ever.
Reaserching:

I have found a great deal of information on the Chase family in the Wayne
County, NY cemetery page. If anyone is interested I can send them the list
as an email.

Hello Derek,
I used to be on the Bucks list, but there wasn't any talk about Chases. I
finally asked about it, the only interesting thing I found out was that many
of the available documents from there about Chases are written in Latin! So
that is kind of discouraging.
I have also been on another British genealogy list, but the name Chase never
has come up in the several months that I have been subscribed. l was hoping
that there would be a lot of English Chases on these lists discussing their
family records that might give some clues. But I am wondering if anyone
knows where in the heck are all of the English Chases? Don't they get on the
Internet?
Sincerely,
Melody

Hello,
I am interested in Abraham CHASE, born abt. 1795 in ENGLAND.
He is recorded in the census of 1861 in Kent Co., NB.
The story is he "jumped ship" and was placed with an Acadian family by the
priest in the area.....
He is NOT therefore connected on this side of the ocean , not directly...I am
interested in any information anyone might have on him, perhaps from research
on the English side.
Thanks

I did a search of my e-mail database, and I fail to find anything from you.
Who are your CHASES and where did they come from and what's their story ?
Derek
Hi,
I'm looking for information on any Chases in Groveland, Georgetown, or
Haverhill in the 19th century. I can't find my ancestor, Azilda Chase.
I am compiling a database of all the Chases in the area, so I can
follow any possible leads.
Azilda (or Azelda, Arzelda, Arzilda, etc.) Chase married Eugene Carter
Brown in Haverhill, Essex, MA on May 11, 1871. They had several
children and lived on a farm on Seven Star Road in Georgetown.

and these 2 gentlemen......
Barney Tyrwhitt-Drake bgs(a)tdrake.demon.co.uk
Kevin Quick k.a.quick(a)open.ac.uk
they were helpful as regards geography and the Chesham Chases....
I am sorry I seem to have begun at that end, then dropped it in favour of more
"hands on" research here in the place where all those Loyalists landed......
But I feel there is lots of scope for tying together the Aquilla stories and
the William origins here...Keith Hume and Ginger (in Arizona) have both done
original research.
Perhaps if one or two of us joined the CHesham Genealogy Society and reported
out what they learned ?
Wish I could help more.

Yes, Brenda, do please list any data u have. I for one am looking for the

Since there is no record that can tie the Hampton/Newbury Aquila and Thomas
back to anywhere (or anybody) in England, it would seem that the reference
about confiscated property either refers to another Aquila and Thomas
(whoever they might be ???), or, more likely is just another one of those
stories from the past that have no basis in fact. Also, to the best of my
knowledge there is neither an Eliphet nor an Equilla to be found in the
Chases of Chesham.
RAC
Hello cousins,
I got started on my genealogy from some papers my now deceased aunt gave my
dad. Here is the quote I am curious about:
"John, Eliphet, and Equilla Chase or William, Thomas and Aquilla Chase were
born in England. Their property was confiscated, and they could not regain
it, so were obliged to leve England...a plan was intoduced to get the
government to settle, but the agents demanded a commission in advance of the
settlements, so nothing was done."
This was written by my aunt, but she gave no references. I have no idea
where she got this from. Here are my questions: I don't recall ever seeing
the name Eliphet anywhere, have any of you got any info on this name or
person? Also, has anyone else here ever heard of property being confiscated
from any of these persons named?
Thank you for any help.
Melody
