Trying to figure out if the last names Charon/Charron/Sharon are of the same family. I have some ancestors who resided in Bay City and Flint Michigan. Rose Sharon (married Robert Smith, resided in Flint) was found on a 1900 US Census in Bay City with parents named Michael (or Michel) and Marceline Sharon. According to info I have found (if I have the right Sharons), they came to the US in the early 1890's and were likely from somewhere in Quebec. I have also been told that some of these ancestors may have descended from tribes in Canada but have no information to confirm/rule this out either. Thanks in advance for any info you may have on this.

The Charron are from quebec generally and decended from pierre and Catherine
Charron who settled an island in the st. Lawrence. They had 13 children and
they spread out over quebeck Canada and my ancestoers to Colorado where they
worked on the then growing Rail road Insudtry.
There is a Charron Association on the interenet which has all this info and
has a very good marriage listing and if you get back a couple of
generaltions they will connect you to Pierre and Catherine.
