Hi Sandra,
Thanks for this information. This is crazy, but I believe Virginia Charron is my great-grandmother and Herbert Alfred Brown is my grandfather.
All the dates and family history marry up with what my grandmother told my father and I, however she said that Herbert Alfred Brown died in WWII. He was stationed down here in NZ for a while and married my grandmother, and she had a son to him.
I've not told my dad yet as I don't know how he would react knowing that his father had been alive until 1975. I'm coming to the U.S. in about two weeks and will be in NYC for about a week.
For many years, we've wondered about my paternal grandfather and his family - I don't even know if he knew he had a son here, or if he did, why he never came back.
I have so many questions that are unanswered. Any information that you could share with me would be wonderful and much appreciated.
Geoffrey

Herbert Albert Brown (dob 3/7/1920) died March 28 1975 in St. Albans, VT. He married Florence Mary Bohannon (5/4/1926). Herbert's father is believed to also be Herbert Brown and he was born in Oregon and returned to Oregon after he and Virginia separated and later divorced. Virginia was the daughter of Alfred Charron and Emily Archambault. Hope this is of some help. I have further info on both the Charron and Archambault. How are you related to the family? Sandra
