I saw a post requesting information on Samuel Charlton who bought the grist mill from John Moudy in 1836. I saw your post from last year, and am also working on Charleton's from Greene County.
I found a marriage record on the LDS website Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-1994 for a Samuel Charleton and Sarah Mowdy Feb 23, 1843 in Greene County, which matches quite nicely with him buying the mill from John Moudy (Mowdy) and also with their first child being born in Oct 1843.
Some sources list Samuel's father as the Robert Charlton born 1778-1780, died Jul 9, 1850 in Xenia and buried in Gowdy Associate Reformed Cemetery.
I'm researching another possible son, but perhaps is a nephew, George Charlton born abt 1813-1814 in Ireland and also lived/died in Greene County.
Robert's www.findagrave.com memorial indicates his 2nd wife was Elizabeth; I found a marriage record for Robert Charlton marrying Elizabeth Johnson in Ross County, Ohio Dec 19, 1833 but not sure its the right Robert/Elizabeth.
