Does anyone know anything about a John Henry Charlton born in 1837 (in Missouri)? He is my 3x great-grandfather and I am having a hard time finding much about him. He married Hettie Baird (who I am also having a hard time researching), and they had five children.

We are related also. John D Nelson is my 4th great grandfather. I still live very close to the family farm and have several pictures that I have been scanning as I go thru my great grandmothers belongings. I will be more than happy to share!

Hi AnneI'm delighted that you are researching Billys family tree as I don't think his children have much knowledge about his family. Yes Billy was my uncle I'm about 14 years younger than him & my first sentance was 'Bibby bad boy!' - this name 'Bibby' stuck for many years. I am tracing the family tree but I haven't entered it up properly on 'Ancestry'as after I started it before Christmas I had a lot of work dumped on me by the charity I used to work for before I retired. I will be doing it properly soon & will send you what I find out. Ihave traced back to the 1600s some of Billys paternal grandmothers ancesters & I met up with a cousin - the daughter Anne who is the daughter of Billy & mums cousin Patricia & she gave me some very useful info - so it seems we are all at it. I'm hoping Marian comes up to stay before she goes home to Oz but sadly this will mean that Susan will have passed by then. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to before I get my act t!
ogether.
Best wishes
Pam

My connection to the
charltons is throught my son-in-law Marcus who is the son of Bill, who was your uncle. I do not have alot of the family history and was doing some research for Lyn (my daughter who is married to Marcus) they have four grandchildren so any information to get me started on my research is more than welcome. I do beleive that Marion who is Bills wife is in England visiting her sister. So you would be Marcus cousin. Do you have a family tree started and if so would it be possible for me to access it.Let me know if I can help in any way
Regards anne

Hi Pam, Unfortunately, I do not know if I am related to William or to any Charltons in Australia. The last Charlton
I have on my tree is Patrick Charlton b.1799 Ireland and his son Thomas b.1824 Ireland. They Arrived in Canada near Hamilton, Ontario between 1835 and 1851. I do not know if Patrick had brothers I believe Patrick roots were probably back in England moved to Ireland and then on to Canada. I am at a loss researching Charlton family prior to Patrick.
At a loss for now. John Charlton
