Hi,
I was wondering if you know anything about Winifred Hagan, as I'm trying to trace a family with the surname of Hagan who lived in Middlesbrough from the 1880's.
Ellen Hagan (b.1836 in Ireland)
Children:
Mary Reegan (b.1858)
Elizabeth Hagan (b.1862)
Patrick Hagan (b.1864)
Thanks,
Katie.

Hi, again. Confusion stemmed from excitement, I think. Anyway, if you want to send me wahat you have, with names and dates, I would appreciate it. I am in Durham library this weekend looking for more info, and the more detail I get, the better. Thanks, Martin

Hi suspect we are slightly at odds here,
The Mary Ann I have the photo of is my Gt Grandmother born 1888 died 1912.
I have what looks like a photo of a painting of Sarah Charlton who I think is your Martin's sister (she was born 1867 calculated, and died 1931)
Sorry to get your hopes up there !!
Mark

Nice to hear from you again. This is great! I only logged on today!! Edward was born 25/11/1830. Mary Ann was born 2/6/1834. They married in 1850. Joseph was born 30/3 1862. Sarah was born 20/5/1866.
I would love to see a picture of Mary Ann - would you know how old she was when it was taken?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Edward is my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather , his son Joseph had a daughter Mary Ann who married Thomas Shepherd. Mary Ann and Thomas had a daughter Edna who is my mum's mum.
I haven't gone as far back as Martin, but I have Edward being born in 1831 in Willington, Northumberland. Edward married Mary Ann Hall who was born in 1835 in Hetton Le Hole, Durham.
I'd love to hear more about the Charltons so would love to see your tree when you get around to publishing it.
I am also in contact with a New Zealand leg of the family descended from Sarah Charlton - my Joseph and your Martin's sister. But you might be in touch with them already. I have a photo of Mary Ann I can send you if you like.
Best wishes
Mark
