The above was my great great grandfather. His son Thomas
was married to Jane Laykin in 1891.My Grandmother Olive Alexandra Married her cousin George Laykin and my father
Ernest Colin Laykin was the only child from that marriage.
I know nothing about Thomas other than that he was a blacksmith and was supposed to have died when my grandmother
was very young. I haven't been able to trace his death cert
and have the suspicion that he may have left them.
I would be interested to hear from any member of this family
and greatfull for any information about Thomas

Hi Ali,
I have shed-loads of Charltons from the Easington Lane area of Durham around 1853-1870.

Hi
Not sure if it's connected but I have a Mary Ann HALL marrying and Edward CHARLTON.
Lots of their children were born in Easington Lane.
A long shot - but the surnames are right
Cheers
