I am searching for info about my Grandfather, George Raymond Charlton b. 9 September 1900, married Ricie Katherine Drain b. 28 March 1895, Greene County, Tennessee. He had one brother, Herman. Their parents may have died in a flu epidemic and the children were raised by a family named Dykes.

Katherine, my mother's maiden name was Charlton and I would be most appreciative of a copy of the Coat of Arms if you would share. My email address is ecarden(a)cox.net, I will provide a street address if being sent by the postal service.

Whilst researching the Wynch and Cradock families with Madras connections I came across the following:
Sarah Wavell (nee Charlton) married John Pitt who died early 1700s in India. Sarah died a short while later. Sarah's will refers to her brother Richard and his children, her sister Mary Graham (widow) and her unmarried sister Anne Charlton and her niece Florentia, daughter of Richard. John Pitt's will refers to Ann Charlton from Stoke in the County of Salop (Shropshire).
This family was in India and John Pitt died at Madapollum.
Incidentally, I think Florentia was married to Christopher Cradock, had a son Christopher and daughter Hannah (married John Casamaijor); Christopher married Grace Cooke (daughter of Thomas Cooke) and their daughter Florentia married Alexander Wynch Governor of Madras (1770's); Christopher & Grace's son was George Pitt Cradock.
If you have come across any of these other Charltons I would be pleased to place them.
