Francis Charlton had a daughter, Isabell, who married (before 1763) to George Dawson d.1812, Governor of Masalipatam, Madras.
Isabell's son was born 1763 so she must have been born about 1740 in Salop.
In the genealogies of the Charltons of Shropshire there are some generations missing. Can anyone help me find this fellow, please.

In the 1881 Canadian Census for Coaticook, Stanstead, Quebec
Household of Marcel Beauchemin (journalist), there are two Charleton/Charlton's listed:
Rose Charleton age 44 (a Widow without occupation Born about 1837 in Canada)
Mercy Charlton age 5 (Born about 1876 in Canada and in school)
Does anyone know who these Charltons are?
And their relation to the Beauchemins?
Thanks

It seems that Thomas Charlton was a very common name.
My Thomas Charlton was born in Durham, England, and was living in West
Philadelphia in 1922. He worked in a Woolen Mill, and his wife worked in a
stocking factory. Someone in their immediate family was named Maggie.
His family had been coal miners before that.
They lived on S. 63rd St. or Woodland Ave.
He would have been about 54 years of age, and had a son named Thomas or a
nephew named Thomas.
Does this connect with anybody?
Elizabeth

Hi Dale......
Can you give me any more information on your Mary Virginia Charlton? Do you know who her parents were? I have lots of Charlton's and a few "Marys"...I will continue to check out my research books for you. So far I have only found one entry regarding Charles J. White........taken from "Marriages & Deaths from newspapers in Frederick & Montgomery Co. Md. 1831-1840"...which reads.......
"June 26, 1839-Died on Sunday last, Charles J. White age 36 a native of Baltimore & agent of the Union Lines of Steamboats and the Stage Lines of Messrs. Reeside & Co.". Could this have been related to your Charles Judson White?
Later..........Mary

Hi!
So good to hear from another Charlton descendant! Unfortunately your names do not ring a bell with me, but I will certainly check out some of my research books and see if I turn anything up for you. I too, have reached a brick wall in my Charlton Line........Just can't seem to find the parents of my Thomas Charlton who was married in Washington Co. Md., moved into Chester County Pa. and finally ended up in Monroe Co. W.Va.......any of this sound familiar?......
I will mail you if I find anything. Good Luck, Mary

Hi, Mary:,
I am at a brick wall. Have you heard of the following family? I am in search of Mary Virginia Charlton b ca m 1868 Charles Judson White b ca 1864. Their children are: George E. b ca 1901, Lelia May b 17 May 1902 d 29 Dec 1994 m William James Kibler, Sr. b 30 Oct 1908 d 18 Jan 1964 (my grandparents), Agnes M. b ca 1908 m Stivers, Alice R. b ca 1910. Everyone, but Wm. J. Kibler, were born in Maryland. I have found them in the 1920 Baltimore Co., Maryland Census. My grandmother, Lelia, is buried at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Howard Co., MD. My uncle tells me that Charles Judson and Mary Virginia Charlton White had a farm in Anne Arundel County before moving to Baltimore. How true this is I do not know, but I don't have much to go on.
Thanks a million,
