Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

my gr. grandfather CHARLES WILLIAM CHARLTON, had a twin brother, JOHN ALVAH CHARLTON. they were born on 15 june 1847 in blanchester, ohio (clinton county) and later on, after the civil war, in mason, ohio (warren county.) i have the feeling that we ARE related to one another!!!!!!!!! your middle names are a lot familiar to me (we have some of the same ones in my family.) i am TRYING to find out what happened to CHARLES'S twin brother AFTER the war. let me know if ANY of this sounds good to you. nancy

i am looking for anyone who may have any info on a JOHN CHARLTON who was born on 12/25/1759 in monmouth new jersey and fought in the battle of monmouth during the revolutionary war. he has STRONG ties to family in clermont county, ohio and is buried in a methodist cemetary in anderson township (newtown ohio.) a large family of charlton's DID come from penn. let me know if you can help me. nancy

JOHN CHARLTON born 1812 High Coniscliff, Darlington.
Married MARY 1833 at WOLSINGHAM, Co. Durham.
At LEAST 3 children:
ROBERT born 1836 Wolsingham, Durham;
MARY born 1838 Wolsingham, DURHAM;
JOHN born 1841 Wolsingham, Durham.
By 1881 JOHN CHARLTON was 69, a widower and still working as a labourer whilst living with son, Robert (and his wife, HANNAH) in HEDLEYHOPE, Co. Durham.
