These could be some of my family but the only way i would know is if my grandmother "Lorena Alice Charlton" came up on records as one of their children not sure if i posted her date of birth before or not but it was August 8, 1903 born in Sheridan County Kansas She was my Dads mother his name is Robert Leroy Price DOB 3/27/1926 his father was George Price everything about him is unknown since he left my Grandma when my Dad was 7 yrs old .. The Only other thing i know about the Charlton Family is My Great Grandmother was Cherokee Indian and She married my Great Grandfather Charles Charlton
If only it were so I would be jumping for joy, my Charltons are proving to
be an elusive bunch. My father in law spent his early childhood in USA, in
Nebraska, but I have been unable to establish where he was born as he and
the family are English and returned to England late eighties, early
nineties. Charles Charlton was my husband's Uncle and he was killed in
France in 1915 whilst serving with the 2nd Batt. Suffolk Regiment. His
father was George William Charlton, so regretfully I do not think we have a
connection.
Good luck in your research........Jean

All I know about him (besides his ancestry) is that he was born Charles
Albert Charlton on 19 May 1885 in Hickory Co., Missouri. I believe that he
was with his father Jesse Charlton in Oklahoma in the 1890's, and I know
that he married a woman named Ethel ??? - I don't know if he had any
children. Charles was killed in a mining accident in Webb City, Jasper Co.,
Missouri on March 30, 1915. His wife then married my great-grandfather,
William Henry Charlton, who was Charles' brother. Anything here sound like
it could be your Charles?

The information I have is that the Charlton name is of Norman origin. The family settled in the Borders area of England and seems to be centered in the Bellingham area of Northumberland. The Charltons were one of the well-known Reiver families and has a long history in this area.
I believe there is a Matthew Charlton in Hexham, Northumberland to that owns
and runs a building supply company. Maybe some relative. It can be found on
the internet. Sorry, no connection to my Charlton's
