My father is second cousins to your father. My grandmother is Cora May Charlton, and her father, William Henry Charlton, was the elder brother of your great-grandfather, Robert Martin Charlton. I have been researching this family for several years, and have old photos and a lot of information back 4 generations on the Charlton side from your father and 5 generations on the Shane line. I would be delighted to share information with you - please contact me directly if you would like to exchange research. I would love to hear from you.

My father is second cousins with Charles D. Charlton, Amanda's father. My grandmother was Cora May Charlton, daughter of William Henry Charlton, who was an uncle of James Paul Charlton, Amanda's grandfather. I have also e-mailed her and am hoping to receive a response. But it sounds like you are also researching the Charltons in Hickory County, Missouri. I have done a lot of research on this family, and have old photos as well as information back 4 generations from Charles D. Charlton in the Charlton line, and 5 generations on the Shane line. I would be delighted to exchange information with you - please e-mail me personally if you would be willing to share information --
Dear Linley
My Samuel Charlton married Eliza Tomlins in 1880's although I have so far not
managed to trace the marriage.
The family has it that Samuel at least may have come from South Wales though
I have no idea whether this is true or not. If I find otherwise I will let
you know.
Regards
Anne, Stockport, Cheshire
Dear Listers,
I have just joined the list and am posting my interests.
My Charltons are as follows:
Mary Louisa Charlton born 6 October, 1845 - (Bangalore, India) to Edwin
Charlton, Private 1st Madras Fusiliers and his wife Sarah (nee Perkins).
Edwin Charlton baptized 10 October, 1813, Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire, son
of John Charlton and his wife Mary (nee Boston).
John Charlton (widower - occupation: gilder - resident of Birmingham) married
Mary Boston, 22 February, 1804 in Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire.
Family legend suggests that the Charltons were originally from Co. Cork,
Ireland.
Transcripts of the last two records follow.
I would love to hear from anyone who may have a connection.
Best wishes,
Linley in Kent, UK

If you mean James Paul Charlton, son of Robert Martin Charlton and Elizabeth
Ann McCloud, then we are cousins. Jesse Charlton and Rebecca Elizabeth
Hale, Robert's parents, are my great-great-grandparents and I have been
researching this family for some years. I have many photos and a lot of
information that goes back several more generations, which I would be
delighted to share with you.

I was wondering Russell was married to a women named Blanche. If so, then that is my grandmother and he is my grandfather. Is the Russell you are talking about now deceased and was in the military?
