Hi Jo
I don't have a web page - keep intending to, but there never seems to be the time :) - . i would be pleased to have a mention on your site and if people contacted you I would be happy for you to release my email address rather than it appearing on-line.
My Charlesworth's at Shepshed begin with two illegitimate births of John and James Charlesworth; sons of Sarah Price. I think their father was William Charlesworth but not sure where he hailed from - I have suspected Ashby de la Zouch where there are Charlesworths in the 18th C. James was my 3x great grandfather bapt 1806. My great grandmother moved to Derby with her husband Amos Baseley c1904 and I still live there. John's son, also called John b 1836 moved to Derbyshire when he became a member of Derbyshire Police force in 1860. He was lodging at Stonebroom, Shirland and in 1871 lived at Norton. He died in Sheffield Infirmary in 1873. He had four sons William Harrison, John James, Alfred Gervaise and Arthur J Percy; his wife was Eliza Harrison from Shirland.
I know some Charlesworths were still at Shepshed in 1950s. Lewis Charlesworth my great granduncle died there in 1951. In the early years they were mainly framework knitters but later some became miners.
If you would like me to write in more detail I would be happy to do so.
Regards
Jane

Hi Jane,
Well, I suppose the start is to ask what you have in mind!
As I said in the first note, at this stage I'm thinking of a simple
directory or contacts list so that people can be pointed in the right
direction. Do you have a web-page that you would like me to point
people in the direction of? Would you be happier if people contacted me
first rather than having your email publicly available?
And finally, how would you like to describe your CHARLESWORTHs? Just a
simple "CHARLESWORTH family of Shepshed, Leicestershire (dates)"? A
paragrapgh with a few names and a little about the movements form one
area to another? Or would you like a full page as my own collection
has?

Hi Jo
I would be interested in contributing to your project. My Charlesworths are from Shepshed, Leicestershire and at least one of them moved to NE Derbyshire.

Hi everyone,
Posting a message through the message boards rather than directly through the CHARLESWORTH mailing list to make sure that as many people as possible see this.
I've recently got back online after moving and in a fit of madness I'm thinking "One Name Study". At this stage, I'm interested in hearing from any and all CHARLESWORTH descendants who would be interested in having a listing or similar on my web-site. I'm not sure how, yet, but it will probably be something like my own family pages (http://www.geocities.com/journeymouse/Genealogy/Families/Charlesworth.html).
What would people be interesting in seeing? A list of contacts of fellow researchers? Links to your own websites? Reports? We'll also have to agree some updating process to make sure that all the links and/or files remain in date.
Regards,
Jo
