My sister Heather Adams has been doing research into our family tree and has found that Emma is our Great Grandmother. Her son came to New Zealand and settled in the centre of the North Island in an area known as the 'King Country' where purchased some (hard) land to farm, he married and had a family of ten children, the eldest son, Robert, was our father. The eldest child of the marriage Margorie is ninety five years old in approximately two weeks. Although frail, she enjoys good health and lives in Brisbane, Australia, with her family of two girls.
I would be pleased to receive the information you have on Emma and I would forward this to my sister. She travelled to Leigh nearly two years ago and is planning to return in a years time to add to her research into the Adams family.
I am a school teacher of art and a landscape artist and recently have taken the Charlesworth name instead of Adams as my artistic name and using my second name Edward.
I understand that Emma died tragically by drowning, it seems after having four children in quick succession.
I look forward to your reply.
Thank you
Ken Adams
My brickwall is this -
My 3xgreat grandfather James Charlesworth was the baseborn son of Sarah Price baptised 30 June 1806. He had an elder sister baptised as Mary (Price) 9 July 1796 and a brother John Charlesworth bapt in 1807. In 1819 Sarah married William Charlesworth 'with the consent of parents' suggesting one of them was under age 21. The following year a Sarah Charlesworth aged 44 is buried. I can find no reference to Sarah Price's baptism. i had thought William was a long term partner of Sarah - in view of two of the children's surname being Charlesworth - who eventually decided to marry her. But if Sarah was born c 1776 she was 43 when she married. If William was under 21 at time of marriage he could not have fathered James and John. I have found James on the 1841 census and a William aged 45-49. Who is the father of James and John? When was Sarah baptised?

Hi list,
Diane list admin here, I haven't seen many posts on this list for some time
now.
What I would like to know is - has anyone got any brickwalls that they would
like to share with anybody.
Some family that you just can't seem to find any information for - you know
the sort of thing - Great Aunt someone had a baby - and you just cant' find
any information after that!!
Hoping to hear from you all soon.
Thanking you in anticipation for answering me.
Diane
I do! I do!
My Charlesworth family is a serious brickwall for me.
I have a David Gaunt, born 14 APR 1822 in England (where for sure?). He married ANN CHARLESWORTH, born 1825 in England (where?) in 1846 in Kalamazoo County, MI of all places. In 1846 they were residents of Otsego Co., MI and Allegan Co., MI (at the time of their marriage). Ann died 29 NOV 1882 in IL (where?). I have no parents listed for my Ann - no siblings - nothing. David and Ann had quite a few children, and many died in infancy. Anybody have a family of CHARLESWORTHs that came from England around 1840ish and lived in Michigan for spell?
Children of Ann and David were --
Julia Ann (my ancestor)
William H.
Sarah Jane
Mary O.
Joshua
Levi Henry
Eliza
Laura Alice
George Caleb
Charles David
Thanks for ANY leads --
~Tracy
