Hi Larry, I am interested in your posting re James who married an Elizabeth Charlesworth in 1795. We have an Elizabeth who gave birth to a son George in 1797 at Wickersley nr Rotherham but it is listed as an illegitimate birth. Do you have any details of children for the couple.
Best Regards

Hiya list,
Just to say that after Christmas we MIGHT have newbies on our list, and I
would like you to be patient with them while they learn the ropes of
genealogy and how to use their computers for genealogy work.
I am sure that you will give them all the help that they needs, and be VERY
PATIENT with them.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi Mick,
I have been researching the Charlesworth family for some time. I found my ancestors located in the area of Darton, Doncaster, Campsall and Kirk Bramwith. That area had a lot of Charlesworths and is just east of Rotherham. There is a lot of information available about the large number of Charlesworths in Rotherhams area on the internet. The two groups seem to be seperate but I'm guessing that they have a common background. One of my ancestors, James b.1795 married Elizabeth Charlesworth. Some people guess that she was a cousin. I'm guessing that she came from the Rotherham area.
Enough! Email me if you want more info, or just to keep in touch.

I'm looking for information about my Great Grandfather Jarvis Needham Charlesworth. All I know so far is that he married Maria Mallender and had a daughter (my grandma) Mary Charlesworth on 27 June 1910. They lived at 140 Carlton Road, Worksop. The house passed on to Mary when he died. I believe that he may have originated from Lincolnshire, but romour has it he may have come from Yorkshire. The only other thing I know about him was that he was in the army during the First World War - I have a photo of him in his uniform (attached).
Jarvis and Needham seem to be unusual christian names, so does anyone out there have a 'Jarvis' or a 'Needham' Charlesworth in their family tree anywhere?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jill

Hi
Wonder if you can help? My great Grandfather was called Jarvis Needham Charlesworth and I'm trying to find more information about him. All I know is that he married Maria Mallender in Worksop, Notts and had a daughter Mary Charlesworth (my grandma) in 1910, and that he came from either Yorkshire or Lincolnshire. The names Jarvis and Needham seem to be fairly unusual, so I was wondering if these names appear in your Charlesworth's family tree anywhwere?
Thanks, Jill
Hi all, After a long time talking about researching my family I have finally got down to it. My recent family history is centered on Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK. I have connections to Allsop from the Elton area of Derbyshire, Buckley from Oldham Lancashire and Foulks/Baker? from Stafford.

Mick Charlesworth
