Any information regarding Louisa or Louise Charlesworth, from Heath House, Staffordshire?,born circa 1826, married circa jan-mar 1849 (Halifax, Y.W.R.?), died 1871 (Devonshire?) would be appreciated. I have family records indicating she married a John Carter or Carteret or Hudson and had five children: William b 1851?, Henry b 1855?, Louise b. 1862, never married, twins John and Mary b. 1866? Mary married a Raymond De Montmorency in 1895. He was killed in South Africa and a recipient of the Victoria Cross.
Thanks in advance.
* Emigration or Immigration?
It's easy to become confused with these two, similar sounding words.
Here is a simple "memory trick" to help you keep them straight:
· Emigration begins with the letter "E" like the word "EXIT" as when
EXITing a country.
· Immigration begins with the letter "I" line the word "IN" as when
coming INto a country.

Hi Larry!
I was hoping your email was still current so you would get my reply. I started out doing my Norris line and got side tracked to the Charlesworth's. My line goes like this
Kim (me)
Sheri Manter(mom)
Kenneth Manter(grandfather)
Pearl C Norris m Earle Manter
Martha Ann Charlesworth m Charlie Norris
William "Willie" Charlesworth and Ann Brooks
I have found cenus records for the years 1870 and 1880 that include William, but he is in RI in 1900 helping the family of one of his sons-probably George Henry. I know that William and Ann came to the US in 1865, three months before Martha was born(b in Lawrence Mass) They had 5 children that I am aware of, but I think they had more.
Clementine b abt 1859 England
George Henry b abt 1860 England
Martha Ann b 1865 Mass
Joseph B b abt 1868 Maine
Sarah E b July 1869 Maine
In 1870 they were all living in Turner Me, 1880 in Readfield. In 1900 Ann is living in Wayne with Martha and Charlie. She died in 1903 and William died in 1913-not sure if he is in Maine or RI but believe, if memory serves me, that he is burried in Wayne with Ann.
My grandparents, Kenneth and Barbara, have quite a bit of information-documents- Seems that my ggrandmother Pearle made sure things were kept well preserved for the future.
William and Ann were from Glossop England and were weavers by trade. In 1870 1880 William is working in a Woolen Mill. Last night I found Clementine in the Me Marriage Archives Online-she m William Staples 21 may 1921, both were lived in Winthrop. Also Joseph m Annie A Mcclure(also listed as Annie A Robinson) 12 june 1897, both were living in Newport.
Now I have been trying to find William and Ann in Ship records.
YEA!!!!!! Found a Connection with someone!
Kim
