Hello again,
I thought it would help others to know the time period of when our Charlesworth family left England.
My Great Grandfather Benjamin Charlesworth and his wife Mary Maria Slater were married in 31 July 1881 soon after the 1881 Census was taken. You can find Benjamin as a listed with his parents Thomas & Charlotte Charlesworth and his sister Mary A. at the Dwelling: Burrow Lees Census Place: Ecclesfield, York, England. I have the copies if anyone is interested.
Mary M. Slater was listed with a family named James and Mary Ann Ashford and their 3 children as a servant (Nurse) at the Dwelling: 14 Randall Street. Census Place: Ecclesall Bierlow, York, England.
Benjamin and Mary Maria Charlesworth had a baby girl in 1882 who died in 1883 then another baby girl who died at birth in 1884. They had a baby boy in 1885 who died 19 days after birth. I can not imagine how hard that was. Then in 1886 they had another baby boy and named him Ambrose Slater Charlesworth and I am happy to say he lived until 1959.
About a year or so later Benjamin and Mary Maria heard some Mormon Missionaries preaching on a corner in Sheffield. They soon joined the Mormon (LDS) Church and decided to make the journey from England to America and settle in the State of Utah. They went to Ogden, Utah because the Missionary that converted them lived there. They settled on a good size lot of land and had five more children. Each of the 6 children married and settled close by Benjamin and Mary Maria. There are many descendants living close to Ogden, Utah right now, but some live away from Utah now.
I hope this helps in some way to explain about my family. There is still much to learn, but I have tried to gather all to the descendants that I know of and we do have two Charlesworth Reunions on a regular basis.
One is for my Grandfather and one is all the descendants of my Great Grandfather Benjamin Charlesworth.
I posted this before, but maybe someone new is a descendant from my Charlesworth line.
Kind Regards,

Hello Charlesworth List,
My name is Lola Stevens and the Charlesworth line is from my Mother's. I have posted this before, but for those that are new here is my family line:
1st Generation - Lola Mae Ross (myself)
2nd Generation - Ione Charlesworth (my Mother)
3rd Generation - Melvin Sampson Charlesworth born 1903 (my Grandfather)
Ogden, Weber, Utah
4th Generation - Benjamin Charlesworth born 1 Jan 1858 ( my Great Grandfather)
Heely, Yorkshire, England
5th Generation - Thomas Charlesworth born 6 Dec 1829 (my 2nd Great Grandfather)
Sheffield, Yorkshire, England
6th Generation - Joseph Charlesworth born 6 Oct 1800 (my 3rd Great Grandfather)
Sheffield, Yorkshire, England
At this point we do not have a document to verify Joseph Charlesworth. If anyone would like more information on this family please let me know. I am looking forward to the research we can share with each other on the Charlesworth lines. I am sure that together we can help accomplish this much quicker. I will send another message about how they left England and came to America.
Kind Regards,
Lola Stevens

1993 so don't know whether he is still at that address or not .

Hi everyone! I think it's time to lay out my line again and see if there are
any new leads.
I am looking for the family of my ANN CHARLESWORTH, born about 1825 in
England (possibly Huntingdonshire). The family moved to the USA sometime
after her birth and may have settled in Canada (probably Ontario) for a time
before coming to America. Ann married David Gaunt in 1846 in Michigan, and
Ann died in Illinois in 1882. I would SO MUCH appreciate ANY leads AT ALL for
her parents! Does anyone have people in Canada or Michigan in the mid-1800's
with a daughter named Ann???
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my query and respond!
Tracy
Hi Bob --
Just checking -- No daughter for this Solomon by the name of Ann, right? I
have an Ann Charlesworth, and I believe her family settled in Ontario about
the same time period, and I cannot find her parents!! I would sure like to
hook up --
Thanks!
