Anyone on this board descended from the Charles families of Perry Co.
Pennsylvania?
Would like to hear from you.
Our Charles line also comes through possibly Cumberland and Lancaster
Counties as well.
Names researching are George, Christian, Christopher, Susan and Mary. Some
rumored information that this family was possibly named "Carl, Carle, Karl,
Karle" from the Alsace and Lorraine area of Europe from 1690.
This is not the same family as "Heinrich Karli" that was also in Lancaster
County who came to the country on the ship "Charming Nancy" often mistaken
as the "Charming Polly".
Any help greatly appreciated.

Dear Charles family listers,
Having recently established our Charles pedigree through George Charles Sr.
(b. 1773 - d. 1846) in Perry Co., PA I am wanting to collaborate with
others to identify the descendants of George and his brother Christian Jr.
Ancestry.com has quite a collection of submissions and various opinions on
these two brothers and their descendants. My desire is to assemble as many
facts, supporting documentation, etc. to publish a Charles website for all
descendants to enjoy and to refer to.
Recently I have discovered that George and Christian could have siblings.
They are Christopher, Mary and Susan. If anyone has information about this
family then I would like very much to correspond with you and exchange
information. Family has possible connections in Lancaster and Cumberland
Counties as well.
If interested in participating in this collaborative effort then please
contact me direct at sgorty(a)qwest.net.
I might mention to others that might be looking for a great collaborative
genealogy web program to check out PhpGedView. Do a simple Google search and
you'll find the website. This program is open source, free, very powerful
and is a continuing student project of Neumont University, an advanced
programmer's college out of Salt Lake City.
I am just beginning to use it and find that it works very well for family
projects where the responsibility is shared to contribute and edit data. For
those that know how to use HTML you can really create some awesome family
sites with the PhpGedView as the core program to organize the data. Supports
gedcom uploads / downloads, message board, email, photos, document
attachments, etc. Appearance and features can be turned on and off, just a
great program for web genealogy.
I have no affiliation with Neumont or the program development. Just passing
along information.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Sam Silvey sgorty(a)qwest.net
