JOSEPH CHARLES (Source: Les Combattants Francais De La Guerre Americaine
1778-1783, page 143, "Domestiques " the 11th one down.) was born Abt. 1749 in
SWITZERLAND/GERMANY/FRANCE????, and died Sep 1828 in Lancaster Co.,
Pennsylvania, USA. He married ELIZABETH FISHER 29 Mar 1796 in Lancaster Co.,
Pensylvania, daughter of ADAM FISHER and ANN MILLER. She was born 05 Feb 1776 in
Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, USA, and died 17 Jun 1855 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.
Notes for JOSEPH CHARLES:
He fought in the Revolutionary War. Came over with LaFayette on one of his
ships. I have copy of pages from French book, that he was an ensign on the way
over. Family lore states, that he came here with two brothers, also that
whenever LaFayette came back he would visit.

Hello Brian,
I have lots of CHARLES ancestors in Cornwall. I have a William Henry CHARLES
but he would have only been 10 in 1854 at the time of "your William"'s
marriage. But "your William" may just be a route I haven't followed yet.
It's also rather interesting as I live near Yeovil, Somerset.
Please let me know how you get on, & If I find anything in the future I will
let you know.
Linda
