My post is probably not good for your inquiry, but anyway it is a post. My
great great uncle was John Ben Charles. Born in Hawkins County, TN. Joined
Confederate Army May 21, 1862, at age of 14 years 6 months. Day's Tennessee
13 Battalion Cavalry. My great grandfather, his brother was Wiley W. Charles
and joined the same unit at the same time. Wiley was 21. Two brothers off
to save the South. Their father, John Pitzer Charles was also a member of
Confederate Army but in the home troops.
All survived the war and Wiley returned to Hawkins County, TN to live a
successful life. John Ben went to Texas. I know little about him but if you
have a John Ben Charles, in your line in Texas, I know a lot about his
relatives.
Hello, I am new to the list and am hoping to find any CHARLES family who I
believe may have lived in Uvalde & Menard, Tx. If you think that we may have
a connection please write me back.
Thanks.
Louise
