Happy New Year to all members of the both the Charles and Goodyear list.
Most sites are frequently updated with new information, so if you checked a
site about 5 months ago, it is possible that the owner of that site has
added new information. The rootsweb powers that be have been putting
listings on line at a very rapid rate. The people at Family History are
continously updating their site these days. It is tempting to feel that
when you have checked in the most frequent places on the web including
Cyndislist, that the information that you are looking for is just not
available. Although genealogy is according to many is one of the biggest
areas on the web, this is still a drop in the bucket compared to all that is
in print in some one place or another or available on microfilm, microfiche,
or by making contact with individuals who are working the same area that you
are. Don't give up, if nothing else turn to another branch of the same
family or even some one of the other families that you are researching and
then come back to the one that you had thought you would never find the
people you are interested.
I do help out every other Saturday at the Public Genealogy library here in
Albuquerque, which for the size of the city is one of the best ones I have
been in. We do have indexes for most of the census through 1870, so if you
are reseraching some one anywhere in the United States from 1790 to 1870 and
can provide me with a head of household name or at least a possibility I
will attempt to do some look ups for you. Please remember that any look ups
before 1850 will just be the name of the head of household and hash marks.
