Hi John,
A sure way, if you want to be 100% sure of a relationship is to check family
connections thru DNA.
The way I verified my connection is simpler. One of my relatives was
married to a Warren. The
Warrens descend from Charlemagne, etc.
Sometimes we get surprises thru DNA, also. I am a Chapman but when I
checked my DNA I found out my Chapman was an unmarried Chapman female. That
stings even when it is a great great grandparent.

Hi, I am a brand new subscriber to this list, but not new to genealogy.
I recently found my descendancy from Elizabeth Blennerhasset and
Lionel Throckmorton. A little Googling and I found comments about
Royal descendancy, and to Charlemagne. I then found, on genalogy.com
the tree "Descendants of Charlemagne LNU" and was able to use it
to work back to Charlemagne.
My question is, being very very skeptical, how much credibility can
one put in this?
I'm sure there are well documented Royal trees, but as we all know,
finding something on the Internet and $1.00 will get you a cup of
coffee.
Suggestions on how to prove or disprove such lines are welcome.
Thanks,
John
