Thank you for the information. Are you a son of Robert Proulx, Jr. and Mildred Sawden? I would be happy to share information on the Proulx family, if you are interested. I descended from John Proulx (1853-1942) a brother to Robert Proulx (1855-1935).

I'm not really sure if this is the same Alfred Maille or not.
I can give you a little more information on your Alfred.
His draft registration states that he was born on January 9, 1882 in Coaticook, Quebec.
He and Clayotha were married in Rhode Island on November 6, 1906. She died February 24, 1929 in Rhode Island at the age of 47.
Their dauther Clayotha was born November 9, 1911 in Rhode Island
There may be a family relationship here because Eloi's godfather was Ulderic Maille who was his brother-in-law.
According to the census records, Alfred came to the US soon after he was born (1882-1883)
In the 1900 census, he is shown as a border with Eloi's cousin, Ulderique Maille and his wife Helen Gilbert. Also with him is Angeline Maille who may be Alfred's sister.
I would suggest you send an email to roch(a)shaw.ca who has offered to do BMD lookups from the St. Edmond-de-Coaticook, Stanstead County, (1868-1992) church. Maybe Alfred was baptized there.
I hope this helps.
Dave

I am wondering if the Alfred Maille mentioned in the obituary is in fact my great grandfather Alfred P Maille, born in French Cananda in abt. 1882. He was married to Clayotha Lonergan in the USA, year unknown. He had a daughter with Clayotha and her name was Clayotha too. She was born in Rhode Island in 1912. He immigrated to the US in abt 1882. If you have any information it would be greatly appreciated as i am a dead end on that branch of my family tree.

I once saw his death cert. he was a butcher, and he died of colon cancer(in 1935...shudder) I visited his gravesite in the 70's and took a picture of his tombstone. My mother(very superstitious) threw a fit.
