Fred Myrsten Dies Suddenly
Fred B. Myrsten, 71, of Rte. 1, Bark River, died suddenly at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at his home.
He was born April 22, 1899 in Sweden and came to Escanaba at the age of five. He has resided in the Escanaba area since that time. Mr. Myrsten was a member of St. Thomas Church and had been employed by the Harnischfeger Corp. for many years.
He is survived by his widow, the former Norma Charlebois; two sons, Wayne of Merced, Calif., and Robert, serving with the Armed Forces overseas; one sister, Mrs. John (Jennie) Johnson of Tacoma, Wash., and one brother, Gust Myrsten of Escanaba; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Allo Funeral Home from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and parish prayers will be recited at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Church with the Rev. Arnold Thompson officiating and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

ESCANABA – Norma A. Mrysten, 93, Escanaba, died Monday evening, March 30, 1998, at Christian Park Health Care Center.
She was born in Cornell on March 8, 1905, daughter of Steven and Rebecca (DeMarse) Charlebois. She attended Escanaba schools and lived in Escanaba most of her life.
She married Frederick Myrsten on Oct. 30, 1923, at St. Anne’s Church.
He died March 13, 1971.
She was a member of St. Joseph/St. Patrick’s Church and the Alter Society. She was also a member of the Escanaba Senior Citizens.
She is survived by: two sons, Wayne (Doris), Heber Springs, Ark., Robert (Mary Ann), Hampton, Va., 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Edward “Ted” Charlebois.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home, Escanaba.
Services will be held at St. Joseph Church at 4 p.m. Friday with Rev. Ron Skufea officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

VERGENNES – Kathleen Jean (Mussaw) Charlebois, 22, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1989, at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont following an automobile accident.

She is survived by a son, Justin Charlebois of Vergennes; her mother, Virginia Mussaw of Vergennes, her father, Edward Mussaw of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Carol) Brill of Vergennes, and Charlene Mussaw of Morrisonville, N.Y., three brothers, Raymond LaVarnway of Addison, Charles Mussaw of Plattsburgh, and James Mussaw of Morrisonville, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church in Vergennes. Interment will be in Sciota, N.Y., in the Spring. DAVID R. CHARLEBOIS, 53, of Lisette Drive, Salem, N.H., and formerly of Attleboro, died suddenly Thursday at home.
He was the husband of Denise (Burke) Charlebois. Born in Attleboro, he was the son of Richard Charlebois of Attleboro and the late Anna (Laferriere) Charlebois. Mr. Charlebois worked for 30 years as a graphic designer and was the senior art director at Tracy/Edwards in Manchester, N.H.
He was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School, Attleboro, and attended New England School of Art.
He was a member of St. Matthew Church, Windham, N.H., and the Lawrence Elks Lodge 65.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves two sons, Marc D. and Michael J. Charlebois, and a daughter, Ashley E. Charlebois, all of Salem; and a brother, Ronald J. Charlebois of Attleboro.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 2 Searles Rd., Windham, N.H. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.

Mrs. Mary Trudell Woods, resident of Bay City for 80 years and long active in Catholic woman’s societies, died Sunday night at 10:10 o’clock at her home, 1108 North Sherman street, after a seven-year illness.

Born in Marine City, May 11, 1863, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Chartier, she was a member of St. Joseph church and a charter member of its St. Anne society. She was also a member of the Bay County League of Catholic Women and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent society.
She was the widow of Charles Woods.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Walter C. Clark, of Flint, a step-daughter, Mrs. Amy Ardouin, of Detroit; three sons, Ernest A. Trudell, of Lincoln Park, Alex F. Trudell, of Detroit, and Leo J. Trudel, of Bay City; three step-sons, Edward Woods, of Detroit, and Fred and Joseph Woods, of Bay City; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Long Time Resident Dies
DENHOLM – Albert Victor L’Heureux, a long time resident and farmer of the Denholm district, died October 15 at the age of 68.
Mr. L’Heureux was born in Battleford on November 30, 1888. His parents were residents there during the Reil Rebellion. He went to the Denholm district in 1904 and was married in Battleford on November 27, 1912, to Effie Charlebois of Duluth, Minn. He was a member of the Denholm Roman Catholic Church and had been a Knight of Columbus. In his younger years he played football and Hockey and later was fond of bowling.
He is survived by his widow and only daughter, Louise. Five grandchildren also survive him as well as five brothers and one sister.
Sallows and Boyd were in charge of the funeral service which was held in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church on October 17. Father Prince, cousin of the deceased, conducted the Requiem Mass and was assisted by Father Lassonde and Father Marcotte.
Pallbearers were two brothers, Elzear and Conrad, Jim Turnbull, Arthur Thorpe, Leon Partridge and Vince Bolan. Burial was made in North Battleford cemetery.

Clarence Erno Rites Today
NEW LOTHROP – Funeral services were to be held this morning for Clarence C. Erno, 77, of 9216 Easton Rd., who died Friday at Saginaw St. Luke’s Hospital from a heart attack.
The funeral services were to be held at Maple Grove St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Eugene Seidenwand officiating. Burial was to follow in New Calvary Cemetery in Flint.
Arrangements were made by the O’Hare-Whelpley Funeral Home, where the body rested.
Mr. Erno was born in Bay City Feb. 27, 1895, the son of Charles and Lumina Erno. He had resided in Flint until moving to New Lothrop in 1930.
He and the former Clara Charlebois were married June 28, 1922 in Essexville. Mr. Erno was a farmer and had been employed at Buick Motor Division until retiring in February of 1960.
Mr. Erno was a member of Maple Grove St. Michael Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, the Flint Senior Citizens and the Genesee County Organic Club.
Surviving are: his wife; one son, Rodney of New Lothrop; two daughters, Mrs. James (Neoma) Wendling of New Lothrop, Sister Robert Ann of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Mae) Dallapiaza, Theresa Erno and Bessie Erno, all of Flint; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Robert, preceded him in death in 1952.
