On a recent research trip at the Quebec National Archives, I came across
a family book entitled "Les defricheurs de la Petite-Nation: Genealogie
des 19 premieres familles de Joseph Papineau", by Christine Charlebois
and Suzanne Nolet. The many descendants of this couple (who married in
1786) are documented in this book (along with those of the 19 other
pioneer families of this area on the Ottawa River); I copied only the
summary of the first generations as well as the list of marriages for
the branch. Their children included: Dominique (m. Marguerite Renault),
Scholastique (wife of Joseph Mathieux), Jean-Baptiste (m. Louise Cécile
Fortin), Hyacinthe (m. Elizabeth Parent), Francois (m.Francoise Bernard
dit Bonenfant), Marie Josephte and Bazile (or Basyle), m. Josete
Racicot.
Well worth checking out for those in this branch. Probably available on
an interlibrary loan. Check the Amicus on-line catalogue at the National
Library of Canada, the Toronto Library, etc.
On a recent research trip to the Archives Nationales in Montreal, I came across the following obituary in a collection entitled "Nécrologie Francos du Vermont 1980-1981", compilation by Raymond Gingras (1982), extracts of the Burlington Free Press 1980-1981. This one appears to be dated July 14, 1980:
