Sheriff Paul Charlebois was the owner of a local hardware store and very prominent in Ventura County government. He served as the Mayor of San Buenaventura in 1878, and was Ventura County Treasurer in 1888.

Louis Charlebois Sr., Spanish War Veteran, Dies
YARNELL - Funeral arrangements are pending for Louis Charlebois Sr., 77, native Arizonan and veteran of the Spanish-American War, who died in Parker Thursday after a heart attack.
A native of Pinal County, Mr. Charlebois lived in Flagstaff for many years. He moved to Yarnell eight years ago.
Vice president of the Arizona Pioneers Association, he was a former president of both the state woolgrowers' and cattlemen's associations.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Drew, Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. June Brooks, Phoenix; three sons, Louis Jr. and Arthur, both of Blythe, Calif., and Joseph, Arlington, Calif.
Burial will be in Glendale, Calif.

Rancher Of Glendale Dies; Last Rites Will Be Tuesday
GLENDALE-Funeral services for Ferd Charlebois, 69, who died Friday in a Sunnyslope hospital after a short illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Brazill-Whitney Mortuary in Glendale.
Mr. Charlebois was born in Pinal in 1884, and came to the Glendale-Alhambra district 65 years ago. He was a rancher until he retired. He is survived by his wife, Jaunita, Glendale; two sons, Richard, El Cajon, Calif.; and Reese, Glendale; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Yonkin, El Paso, Tex.; Mrs. Nora Varney, Los Angeles; Mrs. Elizabeth White, Yokohama, Japan; two brothers, Lou, Blythe, Calif., and George, Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Cavaness and Mrs. Seraphine Carter, both of Phoenix; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the chapel of the Brazill-Whitney Mortuary.

CHARLEBOIS, Lucille (nee Belisle) Passed away on Friday, April 19, 2002 at the age of 87 years. Lucille Charlebois, beloved wife of the late Raymond Charlebois. Survived by her daughter Lorraine, her son Denis (Francine Cyr), and grandchildren Roxanne, Josee and Michele. Lucille will be missed by her sisters and brothers from the Joliette region and St-Alphonse- de-Rodriguez, Quebec. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at St-Sebastien Church, 1000 Frances Street, Ottawa at 11 a.m. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home and Chapel, 180 Montreal Road, 241-3680.
