I am looking for the birthplace and parents of Pierre Francois Charlebois. I know he was born in Montreal, Canada but I do not know the district. I also know his father's name was Pierre Charlebois and his mother's name was Amelie, but I do not know her maiden name. I would also like to locate his marriage to Marie Albina Cote. They were married abt. 1873. Any information you may have would be greatly appreciated.

I was wrong when I said they didn't show up in the 1920 Census for Dickerson County. I forgot that some of the images wouldn't download from Ancestry.com so I skipped over them. I went back in and checked the images I skipped the first time and found them.
This is the info.
1920 US Census, MI, Dickinson Co., Breen Twp

I know you said Ronald's name is Donald but it says Ronald on the census.

David, That is correct family info. You are correct in assuming that Robert and Ronald were twins. However, their names were Robert and Donald. There was also a son, Albert, born at a later date. I'm hoping that when I receive their marriage certificate, I'll have more info on them. I do have a cousin (daugeter of Esther) that is filling me in on some more of the missing links.
Henry & Marguerite both died in the Detroit area, but I'm not sure when they moved to that area. (More of my missing links, that should be filled in soon.)
Thanks for your help.

I found the family in the 1900 and 1910 US Census for Dickinson Co., Breen Twp.
They do not show up in the 1920 census for Breen Twp. I didn't check any other townships. Do you know if they may have moved or did they always live on the same farm?
You were correct that Henry was born in Canada and Marguerite was born in Scotland.
Some of this census was pretty hard to read but this is my read on it. If you would like, I can email you the census and see if maybe you can read it better.

This also indicates that they had three children that were born after the 1900 census but died before the 1910 census.

Hi Joan
Get back with me when you receive their marriage certificate. If it shows Henry's parents, we may be able to fill in the rest of your Charlebois ancestry.

David,
They were my Great Grandparents. They lived in Hardwood, MI in the 1890's into 1930's. I do believe that Henry Charlobois was from Canada (Quebec area), and his wife, Margaret Blackhall was originally from Scotland. I have sent for records and have not received anything at this time. I just thought I'd put out any "feelers" for info.
Thanks for answering.

Hi Joan
I don't seem to have this couple in my file.
Do you have a time period when they were living in Dickerson County?
Do you know if they were married in MI? If so, have you tried ordering a copy of their marriage license?

David, Thanks for your reply. Henry Charlebois was married to Margaret Blackhall. They resided in the Dickenson County area of the UP, Michigan.
