Surname: Deschamps, Hunault, Rivest, Tremblay

Just found you list of surnames and am wondering if your Deschamps are
Hunault dit Deschamps? If so, I am compiling a descedancy for Toussaint
and Marie Lorguiel.
If I have contacted you earlier, can you please get back to me at my personal
email: frances.lachance(a)sympatico.ca
I am not a member of this board and have too many others to join this one
too.
I have over 25,000 descendants now and am always willing to share.
Hoping to hear from you,
Frances (Deschamps) LaChance
Hello to all my Charlebois cousins.
It has been about 3 months since I subscribed to the Charlebois list and it
appears we are not taking advantage of a very useful tool. I think in all
that time I have only received 2-3 emails. Surely we have a lot more that we
can share.
Currently, I would like to find out who Charlevois county, Michigan was
named after. I managed to find some information from the county but it
wasn't enough to answer the question. This is what I found out.
>Charlevoix County was part of the territory acquired in 1836 by the Treaty
>of Washington. This territory covered the northwest area of the lower
>peninsula of Michigan and was known as Michilimackinac. In 1840 this
>territory was separated into several regions, with the region now known as
>Charlevoix County was called Keskkauko. It was renamed in 1843 after the
>French explorer Pierre Francoix-Xavier de Charlevoix. In 1853 it was
>attached to Emmet County. It was officially organized as a county in 1869,
>taking part of it from Emmet County and part from Antrim County.<
Now I'm sure this Pierre Francis-Xavier Charlevoix was one of our cousins,
but which one? I have many Pierre's and Francis-Xaviers in my file but no
way to tell which one this is. If anyone can help, I would greatly
appreciate it. I would like to know who his parents were and when/where he
was born.
Regards
Dave Charlebois

Dear Duane
WE are in the process of tracing our Larivee roots on my fathers side.
We believe they can from France in 1653 and are in the process of connecting
the new with the old.
Any information you have would be terrific.
Info in a Gedcam format would be a benefit??
I look forward to hearing from you
Greg Zolob
