Sue,
I appreciate all the works you'r involve in with this Charette
e:mail list queries
At the reunion in Fort-Kent and St-Francis Ray Thomas & I officially started
the Charette Association.
We are in the process of forming a board.
In case you didn't receive the letter information about it, here is a copy.
<<<
Dear Charette family members,
As we all know and feel, the reunion was a complete success. Many new
friendships and personal reunions were accomplished. The behind the scenes
work, though at times, beset by in-fighting, frustrations, etc, all came to
fruition in a beautifully orchestrated event. The organizers and the
volunteers were few, however an excellent job was done by all
Even from the first meeting in Claude Charette's house three years ago, the
thought of a Family Association was there. What better time to bring it
forth than at the reunion. And this is what was done. Those that receive
this letter or E-mail are the ones who signed the interest sheet. It is
from
all of us that the Charette Family Association will come into being.
This is an introductory letter for brain-storming. Let's share ideas,
thoughts so when it comes time to form, we will have many things in place.
Here are some ideas to start with:
1. Language - English and French in all correspondence.
2. Name - CHARETTE FAMILY ASSOCIATION followed by ASSOCIATION DES FAMILLES
CHARETTE or vice versa.
(There has been a suggestion of including CHAREST to the title due to the
large numbers of that name.)
3. Officers - President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, plus
volunteer
or appointed positions, such as Archivist, Genealogist, Librarian, editor,
etc.
4. Representatives from various parts of both countries to keep on top of
updates.
5. Bulletin - semi-annually or quarterly.
6. Dues - $10.00 or $15.00 annually. (American or Canadian funds???)
7. Classes of membership.- Adult, Youth, Family, Student
Well, that's a start. Let's hear from all of you. Thank you for your
interest.
The list of addressees is about 50-50 US and Canadian. Denis Charest will
send to the Canadians and Ray Thomas will send to the Americans.
