My great grandmother was Maggie Lee Burnett. I found a marriage certificate in Madison County Alabama dated January 10th 1899. This would have her 21 and George about 45. However in the 1900 census they are not in the same household. They are living next door to each other. Maggie is in the household with her parents and a child and the man who would later become my greatgrandfather named Elijah Bee Motes. George is living in a household with children Frank and Rosa Lee. Do you know who Frank and Rosa Lee's mother is? In 1900 Frank, I guess, is too old to belong to Maggie but Maggie's mother's name was Rosa and Maggie's middle name was Lee. Rosa Lee could possibly belong to Maggie. I would also appreciate any help you could give. I do not know for sure where George was born.
Go to USGENWEB and click on Alabama and then click on Madison, you will find what I found. P. S. I stumbled across this looking for people on another side of my family. You can email me at kevinindemo(a)bellsouth.net.

If he had a son named Frank that is the correct George.. He owned a show boat on the Mississippi and it burned. He was in the B&B Circus and was a tight rope walker. He was my maternal grandmothers grandfather. She was Frank's daughter. I thought that George was born in Canada.
All of Frank's kids are dead...the last just a couple of months ago. He has grand children still alive and of course I am in the great grandchild line. I have a picture of George;
