Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Well, I'm not so sure -- I think you have been of help. I'm very interested
in your last sentence about Eliza Chapple born 30 Jul 1847. I didn't have
the month and day -- only the year, which was 1847. And I didn't know
Elizabeth's (the mother) maiden name. So if I can find the missing link
here. I think this is very exciting. Do you have birthdates for the mother
and father, William and Elizabeth? I show William born 22 December 1823 and
Elizabeth born 4 February 1825. Do you have any more on them? I'm going to
have to do some digging now. Thanks for the info. Jane

HI Jane,
Yes I do have a large database of Chapples. All the pre-1837 stuff is
however for South Molton, Devon where my ancestors came from. Post 1837 I
have extracted much of the GRO Birth and marriage indexes up to about 1908.
I do have a Thomas W Chapple born in Exeter Devon in 1848 In Exeter Devon
but his father was John C Chapple. There are no other Thomas W Chapples with
births registered in England or Wales around 1850 suggesting he was born in
the US.
I have 13 Sarah Chapples born between 1847 and 1849.
I have an Eliza Chapple born 30 Jul 1847 South Molton, Devon, with parents
William Chapple and Elizabeth Ackland Lock
Sorry this isn't of much help,

Lyn, Do you have a really large database of Chapples? If you do, would you
have a William Chapple born (somewhere) in England on 22 December 1823. He
married Elizabeth ? who was born also (somewhere) in England on 4 February
1825. They had daughters Eliza, Sarah and son, Thomas W. Chapple born 1847,
1848, 1850, respectively. I'm not sure if they were born in England or here
in the States, but I think one or two of them may have been born in England.
There is a passenger list for the S.S.Living Age which arrived at the Port
of Boston, Massachusetts on 2 Feb 1849 with a young William Chapel family
sailing on it. (The name Chapple is variously spelled Chapel, Chapple,
Chappelle in Massachusetts records.) William Chapel, 25 and wife Eliza,
also 25, with children, Eliza, 2, and an infant, 1. William was a
carpenter.
That's all I have on him. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

North Molton is a small parish next to the much larger parish of South
Molton. It is part of the South Molton registration district as far as
birth, marriage an death certificates go (post 1837).
Let me know what dates you've got on Charles Henry and I'll see what I've

Thanks for the reply. I am searching for information on Elizabeth Chapple and the Chapple family. I have no information on her except what you have given me. I would like anything you might have on this family. I am not sure of the spelling of the last name. I do have lots of information on the Tolleson's nothing on my gr grandmother.
