We have been researching for over 20 years..and William has always been a mistery to us....we just pulled out all the records we have on him...I am going to do some reserch on the civil war in Clarksville Tn tomorrow, and see if I can find records on him...I have no date on Louisa's death, but it looks to be between 1870 and 1880...do you live in Kentucky?

I believe and have always believed that my James Miles Chappell was a son of William Chappell and Louisa Jane Hiester. but have not been able to prove it. He married Lydia Alice Bryant in Daviess co. ky in 1887 and died before 1900. So I have never been able to determine his age but Alice Bryant was born in 1866 meade co. ky. a daughter of Lewis and Didama Nelson Bryant.
I have a bunch of photos of people with no names that came to me from Alice third husbands son. (His second wife) and I know that some of them have to be Chappells but just dont have any living uncles on his side to compare them to.
I did see a photo of Chester Chappell son of William Morgan and he does look a little like my husbands uncles. I also have a photo of James and Alice when the kids were kids but with no one to compare it to I cant say who he belongs to, but I do believe he was a son of William Chappell and Jane Hiester. You are the first person in over 30 years that I have run across taht is actually related to this particular chappell.

Hi: I know there are a lot of Chappell's in KY, my wife is from Harlan
Co. However, I have not traced my family into KY. We went from Prince
Edward Co, VA to GA, then across the river to Pendleton Dist, SC. From there to
Pope Co, IL by way of AL, then to Sullivan Co, MO then Ellis Co, OK. A
lot of traveling!
Wish I did have more info on KY Chappells.

Hi! I also descend from Thomas Chappell. Everything I've read hasn't established a direct line between Thomas and Captain John (of the Speedwell). Do you have a direct tie? I'd love any information you'd be willing to share with me. My email is: leighstulack(a)hotmail.com.
Thanks!

Please if anyone can help me with my Chappell or Hall family contact me at
cliffene1(a)earthlink.net
I am the youngest child of the youngest child of D. W. Chappell and Martha
Hall.
My grandfather was known as Daw. I don't know what that stands for or
where they came from.
They moved to the county of Rockcastle in 1912 and there are no previous
records there. I have checked in several surrounding counties but with no
luck. Some courthouses burned in late 1800's
Destroying property records and wills. I have even searched census records
but perhaps they were both too young to have names includes on records, just
listed as a boy or girl.
