Hi Cousin!
I have actually talked to your father and aunt Jean on the phone. I just found them last month. I was so very excited to have found them! And now you've found me! :) Your great grandmother, Ora Watson King, and my great grandfather, Marvin Watson, were brother and sister. Their parents, Emma Elizabeth Seay Watson and Albert G. Watson had 10 children. I've been researching the family history for close to a year. I never knew my great grandfather, so everything I've learned about the family has been all new to me, but I feel like I know Albert and Emma and all 10 children after all my research. I would love to chat with you. My e-mail is blt_onrye(a)comcast.net. Do you happen to know anything about your cousins, Gladys Imogene's daughters, Sally and Sue? I can't find any info on them past their birth records. Your aunt Jean said that her mom and Imogene were estranged after their father died, so she didn't know what happened to them.
Oh, I'm so glad to hear from you! Please keep in touch.

Robert is a witness for Sarah CHAPPELL, widow of Henderson CHAPPELL died in Mexican War. He is witness as to Sarah having been married to Henderson, dated 5 April 1858.
I was hoping someone could help trace Robert CHAPPELL, maybe a clue as to his parents.

Lula Johnson Montgomery was the daughter of Alvarian Chappell Johnson, His wife was Mary Marinda Howard. His mother was Marinda E. Howard who married Jesse Johnson. The Howards and Johnsons lived in North Carolina. A.C. Johnson moved to Saline County, Mo about 1870. I haven't been able to connect him to Elisha Chappell although I feel there is a connection. Lula Mae married John William Montgomery. They had 2 boys and 2 girls. They were all born in Saline County, MO. The 1920 Census lists the family.

Lula Mae had 3 sisters; Martha E. born in 1866 in North Carolina and that is all I know about her. The second sister was sister was Dora Geneva, or Jennie, who was born 5 June 1868 in North Carolina and died 17 Aug 1907,at Norton, in Saline County, MO. She was my grandmother. My father, John Douglas Van Winkle was 3 years old when she died of tuberculosis. The third sister was Sally Ann, born in 1870 and died in 1933 in Marshall, MO.
I don't remember much about Aunt Lula and nothing about Uncle Willie. I do remember Aunt Lula had arthritis very bad and lived in a house across the street from the Baptist Church in Slater. The picture I have of my grandmother, Jennie shows a very beautiful woman so I imagine Aunt Lula was pretty, too.
There were 2 boys, Thomas Floyd and Riley (possibly Wiley) and twin boy and girl who died at an early age.
The Johnsons lived on a farm near Norton (half way between Slater and Marshall on Route O). My grandfather Van Winkle bought it and my father bought it from him. We still own the farm although my sister and I live in Saint Charles MO and my brother lives in Independence MO.
I am looking forward to sharing information. I have gotten stuck on the Chappels and Howards.

We have some differences?? I have John Chappell (1763-1835) yours
(1771-1835) At least we agree on his death date. He married Seveleah "Sibyl"
Ruff in 1816 in Fairfield Co, SC. I almost positive his father was Henry
Chappell (1732-1783). Many of the researchers thought his father was Robert
from the work of Phil Chappell. Since then we have found the Will of Henry
which clarifies John's father. Many say his mother was Elizabeth Rives but
I don't think so. I believe she was Elizabeth Hicks, though I have not
been able to verify.

Mystery is some records indicate Jabez Chappell & Sp.Zipporah Bill m. in Lebanon CT. in 1735 were in Nova Scotia in 1741 possibly w/children and some of the family trees report death dates for this family of 1741 ????
Father Lt. Caleb Chappell & "Liffy" (who was either the son or brother of Jabez) were granted land in 1760s in Nova Scotia.
Jabez was the father of Asahel (my ancestor who later settled near Marcellus New York (finger lakes region).
