I believe you have the wrong parents for Peggy Chappell. The children of John Chappell and Martha Hines were born between 1759 and 1774 in the Albemarle Parish Register. There is no Peggy listed and a marriage date of 1820 is late for their children. There is a John Chappell who married a Mary Edmunds in 1783 in Sussex Co. These might be her parents. I don't know if this John is the s/o John Chappell and Martha Hines but he could be. This hasn't been one of my lines to research. I hope this will be of some help.

also, across the river. Around Henry Co., Trimble Co. or Carroll Co. My
Molly Chappel Williams was there and maybe those are brothers or cousins.

Hi, I have Chapple/Chappell family in Harrison Co., IN. Do you have any spill overs in that area?
My family goes back to Jesse Chapple and Mary Ann. Jesse was born abt 1765 in KY we think. They relocated to Harrison Co., IN before 1820 and stayed there. Several of the family relocated to Nebraska (Cass Co.) around 1900. My father was born in Nehawka, NE.

From "History of Grant County, Wisconsin", 1881, p. 901 - 902.
PLATTEVILLE
EDWARD CHAPPELL, retired farmer, Platteville; was born in November, 1813, in Camborne, Cornwall, England, where his younger days were spent at mining. In 1839, he came with his family to America, and spent a number of years in the coal and iron mines of Pennsylvania. Later, he was one of the owners of a Greencastle, Pennsylvania, foundry, and, still later, interested himself in farming. In 1856, he sold his farm, and came West, purchasing of J. C. Wright the splendid 270-acre farm, which he still owns. It was a prairie farm, under improvement, though Mr. Chappell has since erected a new house upon it, and is located partly in Smelser and partly in Elk Grove. Since 1876, he has been a resident of Platteville. His wife was formerly Eliza Pearce, of Illogen Parish, Cornwall. They have eleven children - Edward, born in England, Mary J. (Mrs. James Ivey), John M., William C., Ann E. (Mrs. John Rogers), Sarah (Mrs. Abel Gill), Gilbert, Alfred P., James R., Thomas L. and Anna M. Ei!
ght of the children were born in Pennsylvania, and the two youngest on the Elk Grove homestead. The eldest daughter resides near Parkersburg, Iowa, and six of the others are on farms of their own in Taylor Co., Iowa. Edward is farming in Elk Grove, and Thomas is on the old farm. John M. is also a farmer in that town. The children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chappell number about sixty. Mr. Chappell is a Democrat, and served five terms as Chairman of Elk Grove. Is a member, with his wife and most of his children, of the M. E. Church.
[I am not related to this family. I'm just posting this as a service and hope it helps!]
Hello all,
Thought you all should be aware of the following:
The following is from the Rootsweb HelpDesk
at <http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/>:
**************************************

Fake mail addressed from RootsWeb Abuse Department:
It has come to our attention that RootsWeb is suffering from a
low-life attempt to infect its users by sending them to an infected
website.
Basically, if you see mail that is reputedly being stated as being
from the RootsWeb Abuse Department and telling you to confirm your
email by clicking a link, then just delete it. Please DO NOT click
the link. Thanks.
**************************************
The following information is also given on the same web page:
**************************************
Infected E-mails and Spam:
Many worms, trojans, or viruses forge (copy) the "From" e-mail
address, making them appear to come from someone you know (such as
RootsWeb.com). Or, they may have a file name that would make it look
like a legitimate e-mail address. Spam, or an infected e-mail might
indicate a message came from RootsWeb.com, or from a mailing list at
RootsWeb.com, when it didn't. An infected computer is sending these
forged messages to you privately. RootsWeb.com cannot prevent these
forgeries, nor the bounces for failed deliveries. To learn more, and
for links to online sites that can verify your computer is clean of
these viruses, click here (<http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/virus.html>).
**************************************
Pretty much any email that instructs you to click a link to go to
a website to confirm ANYTHING, whether it be your email address, User
Name/ID, Password, etc., should be ignored. Such tactics are called
"Phishing", i.e., someone is "fishing" for your personal
information. DON'T DO IT!!!!! No legitimate website will ever send
you an email asking you to click a link and then enter personal
information.

My grandmother is Ann Douglas Chappell. Her mother was Catherine Chappell daughter of Laban Christopher Chappell Jr.and Martha Ann Monteith. This makes Rev. Laban Christopher Chappell, Sr. my great great great grandfather.
My grandfather (m. to Ann Douglas) is John Pope Chappell. His father was Jesse Chappell son of Oscar Fitzland Chappell and Mary Martha Howell. This also makes Rev. Laban Christopher Chappell, Sr. my great great great grandfather. Fortunately, my grandparents weren't closely related enough to cause any genetic problerms even if their marraige today would be considered taboo.
Would you be able to send me copies of your photographs of Oscar Fitzland and Laban Christopher (Sr.) as well as any others of this family tree? My grandmother has a copy of the History of the Chappell Family and other photographs of people who may also be your relatives which I mught be able to share. Thanks
