Wow, Jeff...seems like a tough one here. I have checked censuses for TN for 1870 and on, but no luck. 1920 and 1930 with Jess or J.F. as head of household both say both of his parents were from TN. Gotta find 'em!
Do you have any idea when he or they moved to MO?
Also, why do you think his parents might be Wyatt and Betty?
I'd love to help solve this one....will keep looking as time permits!

Carolyn,
I sent my last message too quickly. I meant to mention that, indeed,
the Jess and J.F. CHAPPELL in Sandywoods is mine. But I can't find
any information about Jess' parents or his wife Lou (whom I'm
descended from).
Regards,
--Jeff.

Carolyn,
Thank your for helping me with this. I don't have any county
information on Jesse Forest CHAPPELL's birth place.... just Tennessee.
But his death was in Scott County (in Diehlstadt) in 1952. And he's
buried in Dogwood Cemetery, Sikeston, Mississippi, MO.
To further complicate matters, I think he had at least 4 wives. Lou,
Larona, Edna, and Rose. I'm not sure of the dates except for Larona
whom he married in Dec 1898 in Benton, Scott, MO.
Again, thank you for your help. Any information you can provide will
be of great help.
Best regards,
--Jeff.
Wait...before I get too deep, do you know the counties he lived in in TN and MO? There are a pile of Chappells in Wayne Co., TN. And there's a Jess and a J.F. in Scott Co, MO (Sandywoods?).

Have you checked any censuses? That would be the first place I'd go, given the dates. I'll go look around. Do you know when he went to MO, and any other places in between?

hey Darcy:
can you put Rand Dee (white) back on your prayer list. his PSA is back
up to 5.4 so the metastasized cancer is back into his bones. he's going to
go on a clinical trial rather than radiation this time to see if something
else works, and could use all the prayers he can get. thanks.
hope things are going well with you. I've been working full time and been
at the bus barn from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., so I haven't done ANYTHING on
genealogy for the last few months at least. other than RD's constant fight
with the cancer, we've been enjoying ourselves. weather this winter has
been fantastic (hate to see what happens with summer) and we're happy with
the warm weather we've had. not much else on this end. keep in touch.
don't know Julie's email either--sorry.
