I am also researching this family. My grandfather was Harold Madison Brewer born in Weakley Co., TN in 1910 to Slyvanus Hale Brewer and Maggie Mae Chappell. Maggie was the daughter of Jessee Madison Chappell (Chapple in Humphreys Co. census in 1870 and 1880). Jessee is in the household of his mother, Leanna Chapple in 1870 Census in Humphrey Co. His mother is listed as as Bassett Chappel in 1860 Census in Hickman Co. and he is in 1850 household of Hansell (Ancil?) Chappell .
I would be glad to share information on Jessee Chappell's family and would appreciate further information on Chappell's in Hickman Co. and before.

Hi Jerrine, my ancesters go back throuogh George Edgar Chappell, brother of William Erastus Chappell, sons of John William Chappell. John's parents were George and Frances Chappell. George's parents were Jesse Chappell and Mary Ann ? I have not been able to get any further back. Jesse was in KY before going to IN. My family left IN and went to Nebr around 1900. Now we are scattered to MT, MO, CO, and NE.

Hello List Members:
Rootsweb has set up a special "Katrina" message board at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=hurricanekatrina2005&m=1.
This message board has been created to enable you to post inquiries about your loved ones, friends, neighbors, and "genie friends" who may have been in harm's way. Hopefully, when they are able to get online, they will post there to let us know they are OK and to share their stories of survival.
Queries and news about archives, libraries, repositories, cemeteries, and other items of genealogical interest are also appropriate for this board. Offers to help the victims of the hurricane should be directed the appropriate agencies, such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, religious groups, etc. instead of the message board.
Feel free to visit anytime.
