Velma,
We just saw your notice in ancestry.com. My grandfather was Francis Edward Suddard, born in NY in 1891. We believe the name Francis is multi-generational and stems back to the Francis Suddard who came from Corney, Cumberland, England. We know my grandfather and great-grandfather were both Francis, but after that, we can't fill in the gaps. any assistance would be helpful. You had speculated that the Francis born in 1817 ended up in Canada. Perhaps, he is my great-great grandfather...You may reach my mother Marlene Paquet nee Suddard at the above-listed e-mail address or myself, Sandra Paquet at sandypj(a)prodigy.net. Hope to hear from you!

I am trying to help my mother in law find some info.
Zanie Chappell (b. probably AFTER 1880) married John P. Alexander (b. 1882) in Humphreys Co., TN abt 1905. They had two daughters, Stella, b. abt 1906, who m. James Brewer, and Pearl b. 1907, who m. Edward Bruce, Clyde Wenneston, and Robert H. Crooks.
Zanie & John divorced about 1910, and by Jan 1911, he married Elsie Brauer in Texas.
My mother in law is desperately searching for the divorce record for Zanie & John Alexander. It SHOULD be in some TN county.. but she has NOT been able to find it yet. I would assume it to be in Humphreys or a surrounding co.
Is there anyone who knows who Zanie was the dau. of?
I've found these possible Chappell families in 1880 TN:
Jesse (b. 1845 TN) and Paralee, found in Humphreys Co
John (b. abt 1850 TN) and Ann, found in Humphreys Co
(I suspect these to be brothers, as both answered their parents were b. in tn and va)
Dickey W. Chappell (1847 tn) and wife Elizabeth, in Maury Co
C. Chapel (b. 1852 nc) & wife Beatrice, in Fayette Co
Eli Chapel (b. abt 1853 tn) & wife Susan in Fayette Co
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If anyone has the 1880 Federal Census information for William and Julia Chappell (or variant of Chappell spelling) of Avon or South Lima, Livingston County, New York could they send me the information? I have no access to this census year. I am particularly interested in Julia's and her parents place of birth.
Thank you,

Greetings,
In 1918, there was a Piedmont Sanitarium on three hundred acres of land near
Burkeville, in Nottaway Co. VA. The place apparently has changed it's name
and is now a Rest Home.
To read about it, click below
<A HREF="http://hsc.virginia.edu/hs-library/historical/ALAV/sanator.html">Sanitariums in Va.</A>
I have written twice to the site and received no answers back. Would anyone
know if records of patients who lived in the place while it was called
Piedmont Sanitarium are available?
Thanks in advance,
Larry

I apologize if some of you get this message more than once, I am posting
it to several lists in hopes of answers.
>From what sources did Broderbund/Family Tree Maker get their info for
their Marriage Index cds for NC and other states?
They have many marriages listed from before records were required to be
kept, and not neccessarily Quaker marriages.
For instance, there is an 1850 marriage for Henry Chappel and Kesiah
Elliott in Perquimans. I want to know if there are records I can look
for to find more info, i.e...parents names.
I've been curious about this for years...hope someone knows the answer!
BTW...as long as I'm here, here are my Chowan/Perquimans surnames:
Chappell, Lane, Skinner, Monds, Dail, Elliott, Bunch, Parrish, Small,
Goodwin, Griffin, Taylor, Bond, Perry, ...you know...half the
county...many early Quakers, too.
Thank you all! Carolyn Chappell Nelson
