Hello Linda,
I am most interested in hearing about this "George before 1690", do you have who he married?
Am always trying to find a connection for my George Chappell who was here in Harford County Maryland in the middle to late 1700's. Mine was married to Nancy Thompson. They had: William Ambrose, James & Mary Chappell.
William Ambrose moved to Surry NC, then, his parents did as well, leaving James & Mary here in Harford County with who we assume to be Nancy's mother, Mary Thompson!
We can find nothing on George Chappell or Mary Thompson prior to Harford County!
Just had to take a chance & see if there might be a connection!
Thanks!

Sorry to say it, but I don't think that there is a direct correlation, although I have yet to discover passage records for Henry Chappel, my direct pre-Rev War ancestor.
His grandsons, Thomas and John, and his son Henry Jr. all fought in the Revolutionary War on the Maryland line (they were from Frederick and Montgomery Counties). When Thomas died, he left land to his son James Moore Chappell in Loudoun Co., Va. The genaology goes from there...James William Chappelle to George Ernest to Paul Eugene and on down from his son to me and his granddaughters, grandson, and great-grandchildren (no great-great yet).
I do hope you locate your fellow ancestors. Happy hunting!

Greetings,
I want to thank the many of you who e-mailed me with encouragement.
After much thought however, I have decided that posting the names and
locations of Halifax Co. VA Cemeteries was a bad idea on my part.
That idea is now dead and finished.
I will continue to furnish Cemetery Surname lookups to those who request them.
Upon request I will provide only Cemetery names and locations connected with
specific first and last names in the books.
Larry
Greetings,
due to an apparent lack of interest, I see no reason to continue the posting
of the names and locations of Halifax County, Va Cemeteries . The idea was to
develop better directions for those wishing to locate/find the cemeteries.
