Interesting concept.
My son-in-law's father is a William Chappell living in Ohio (but awfully
close to the PA border.) One of his daughters is working on their
genealogy. It is just happenstance that my great grandfather was, William
W. Chapel and one of his sons was William P. Chapel. My father Dan and I,
William Chapel Burrows, carried the name forward as our middle
name. William Chapell (b. ?, d. 1689/90 in New London County, CT) was the
4th great grandfather of William W. Chapel. We've also got a bunch of
Jonathans and Johns.

Hi Jeanne,
I have a gr-gr-grandfather named William M. Chappell who was born in Newton County, GA and his parents moved to Talladega County, AL.
Jane (Chappell) Vining
It sure would be interesting to find out how many William Chappell's there are in the world, right now, working on their family history.
My husband is one. From Pennsylvania, now living in Tennessee.
Jeanne
Can anyone tell me if they have access to the 1910 or 1920 census for the area of Havana, Arkansas. I'm looking for William Chappel. He didn't marry until 1923 but maybe it would
list him with other family members. I'm hoping to find out more about him and his parents.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Shirley
I have Wm Chappell born around 1880. He may have a brother Charlie, a sister Emma. His
son was Jasper Chappelle and daughter Arminda (billie) Chappelle. Arminda could still be
alive in San Francisco. I have not been able to locate her. Jasper named his son Robert.
If anyone knows our family please contact me.
Thanks
Shirley
Please remove me from your E-mail list immediately. Thank you!

I hope someone can tell me I was not dreaming, but a long time ago I ran across a ship log of "Chappell's coming to the Louisiana territory in the sixteen hundreds directly from France, I have never been able to find that ship log again, DUH !
Any way, I always figured most of the Chappell's in the southern states were descended from those, whereas my Chappelle's left France in 1698 and located in Germany, later in 1751 came to Pennsylvania.
If anyone has that log, I sure would like to have a copy of it.
Thanks,
Russ Shopbell (Chappelle)

Greetings,
I am trying to get a handle on as many of the Cemeteries located in
Halifax Co Va. as possible.
I own the 2 vol. "Halifax Co (Va) Cemeteries" by George Calvin Waldreb
III.
George Calvin said there were as many as 80 cemeteries he had notation of,
but did not get to cover in his books.
I know of at least one cemetery not covered in the two books simply
because I have been there and seen the graves of my parents and other
ancestors with my own eyes.
Please e-mail me the names and locations of any Cemeteries in Halifax Co. Va
. you know of, no Surnames.
Also if anyone knows of other sources of Halifax Co VA. Cemetery names,
locations and grave inscriptions I would appreciate the info.
Thanks in advance for all the help I hope to receive.

Would anyone whose has access to the 1810 Georgia Census record do a lookup
for me?
ROBERT, OBEDIAH, WILLIAM and ABRAHAM CHAPPELL are all listed in the Tax
records for Lincoln CO, GA in 1810. I can find no other record for Robert
Chappell and I need his age bracket to determine if he is a brother or father.
Our local library begins with the 1820 GA Census.
Thanks if you can help.
