Brian,
I'm White/Caucasian/European-American/Whatever, but in the early 1970s I
lived near Baltimore, MD. I found several Black/African-American families
that lived there as I researched my genealogy. I did this merely by calling
to see if we were related seeing as how the phone book doesn't give a
person's color. Just kidding. Anyway, I spoke with some very nice people,
several of which stated they descended from Virginia slaves, my family
coming from MD as far as I can tell.
I also call people by using 10-10-811 and then the number....50 cents for 10
mins and 5 cents/min thereafter. You never know what 50 cents will bring
you.
Good luck in your quest,
Len

I am looking for the family of Edward Chappell who married Caroline Prideaux. He lived in Dodgeville Wisconsin and had at least one son, James Prideaux Chappell. Edward was born in England. James was born in Dodgeville about 1866. I find no on line records for any of these people.
What county is Dodgeville in? I could order records for that through LDS.
Any help or connection gladly received.

How many? I don't know. How active? So-so.
Question: can you trace you CHAPPELL line back to Surry County North
