I am working on a genealogy for Daniel Carpenter and have just found thru his Rev. Pension Final payment papers that he had a daughter named Huldah Rosanna Carpenter married to Ezra Chappel. In 1850 they were living in Fairfield Twp., Huron Co., Ohio with one daughter Marilla or Marlissa born in about 1823 in NY. I am trying to post correct information and wonder which is the correct family and if they had other children. My Ezra was born in CT about 1777 and died in July 1, 1865 in New London, CT according to an obituary. Please let me know if you possibly have a match. Winnie Sihon

___________________________________________________________
Mr. Chappel was a kindly man to meet and was one of the best posted men in the community. He was prominent in public life, in earlier days having held different positions of trust, which he never betrayed. Inquiry fails to find any instance where even a shade of dishonor ever marred his public or private life. To the writer of this last paragraph he was always kind and we esteemed him most highly. Funeral services are being held from the home this afternoon in charge of Rev. Geo. Clark of Ada.
