I have from the papers of my wife's grandmother the following CHAPPEL family data
Father: Stephen Franklin CHAPPEL - b Dec 1, 1821, d Oct 6, 1911 in Upland, IN.
Mother: Elizabeth NEWBRAUGH - b Oct 6 1823 in VA, d Apr 12, 1949 in Marion, IN.

James Madison - b Sept 18, 1850, d unknown (day of birth ?)
Daniel - b Feb 10, 1852, d unknown
William Henry - b June 26, 1854, d Feb 3, 1921
Joseph Wilson - b Apr 20, 1856, d Jan 27, 1939

Stephen Gerard - b Feb 4, 1863, d Apr 30, 1941
Fannie May - b Dec 2, 1867, d Apr 12, 1949
Mary Ann married at least three times; twice to men with the surname "BROWN" and once to a "DUTTON". My wife descends from Mary Ann through her relationshipe with "Watt?" BROWN. Their son, Fred Brown is my wife's great grandfather.
Fannie May m John Thomas EVERSON on Jun 18, 1887. Delbert EVERSON (b Aug 17, 1902, d Sept 27, 1971 in Marion, IN) was their son. Data for Fannie May was compiled in an Ancestor Chart by Kenneth BURCH of Huntington, IN, probably several decades ago. The chart is among the same papers.
Elizabeth NEWBRAUGH is listed as daughter of Geroge NEWBRAUGH and Frances CALTIP.
Stephen Franklin CHAPPEL'S parents are given as "CHAPPEL" and "SARTWELL": surnames only - both born in VA.
Can anybody help me further with this family? Do you have Chappel's that might be ancestors of this family? Do you have any more details regarding Mary Ann, her marriages, her siblings...?

As President of the Spigner-Speigner-Spigener Family Reunion, I am collecting any and all information about members of our great family to be included in a first rate history book to be published by our next reniuon in summer 2003, 2 1/2 centuries after John George's arrival in Charleston, SC. This data collection phase is very important because data accuracy is critical. By the end of the year I will be asking everyone to send pictures and stories, all of which will be included. This is a giant undertaking, but it will be most rewarding. What I need right now, in any format, is hard data: names of Spigner-Speigner-Spigener descendants, dates, burial places (cemetery names and locations would be very helpful -I'm trying to visit them all), and other good data. I will need proof readers and editors for content by around the end of the year, so please volunteer. And get your pictures and stories ready!! SEND INFO NOW - SNAIL MAIL, VOICE MAIL or EMAIL!!!
