Hi Dave and list, I have been gone to a meeting all day so I missed
these earlier but I am afraid is all that I can add is more confusion.
The source of Albert's marriage and children was my Great Aunt
Margaret's "Black Book". She wrote all sorts of interesting genealogy
tidbits in her "Black Book", unfortunately she had very few sources with
these tidbits. Also unfortunately I have never taken the time to
document these either and I probably should have before we included them
on the webpage. Most likely Albert and Sarah were married in Madison
Co, IN since Albert's parents and the rest of the family were there at
the time.
John's brothers' Josiah and Martin where in Indiana at the time John and
the family moved there. Martin also only had two son's as documented in
the "Samuel Chapman Book" by Ira Allen Chapman. The first was Martin,
Jr. the second was Erastus Otis. Martin Jr. married in 1849 in IN and
had nine children, two sons Melvin and Thomas. Erastus married about
the same time but had no children. By the way, Martin and Greenup are
definitely two separate people, they are brothers Martin being born
18-Dec-1794 and Greenup born 1806 lived and died in Scioto Co, OH where
as Martin moved to IN. I had previously posted information as Martin
"Greenup" which was in error sorry.
Sorry that I am not more helpful. Paul
Paul Rekow recently send me an update on his descendents of James
Chapman
of Amelia Co., VA.
James son John (b.1791 VA) had a son Albert (b. 1819 Scioto Co., OH)
who had a son William b. November 11, 1842 location unknown. Acording to
Paul, William died in the civil war March 25, 1865 in Petersburg, VA.
Unknown as yet where Albert was when he died or where the William, his 3
sisters and brother John were born. Maybe Paul can add to the discussion.
